My Ramblings

Random stuff.

A friend of mine and I were visiting a local store that happened to sell some of my jewelry. My friend had wandered off to look at some necklaces, and came back to talk to me.

"Eric, I was hoping you could make me a necklace like this one I just saw. Would you believe that they're charging ninety dollars for this thing?" She led me over to the display where I promptly picked up the tag on the hematite bib necklace she was looking at and showed her the tag with my business name on it. . . .

So Kari and I were at a gathering tonight, and Kari, being pregnant, needed to "powder her nose" once more. While waiting for the bathroom, she smelled some rather illegal-smelling smoke eminating from the cracks around the door.

The door opened and "Smokey" came out and later headed for the snacks (go figure). At this time, Kari was near the food when I had offered "Smokey" a glass of wine. He said that he couldn't have any wine as he needed to get right back to work. Kari started cracking up.

I just heard on the news tonight that Detroit is still the "Most Dangerous City" in the United States, even though the crime rate has decreased.

On a related note, we're moving on the 20th. . . .

So tonight Kari and I were coming home from bargain shopping at the local K-Mart liquidation, and we stopped at a red light on Beck road.

A car pulled up next to us and its driver honked at us to get our attention. Kari rolled down the window and the car's driver started asking us for directions.

"Hey, I want to go south on Beck Road. Is it this way?" He points to the right.

"No, that's east," I reply.

"Then is it that way?" He points to the left.

"No, that's west," I reply.

"So which way is south?"

Today I passed a little green car with a bumper sticker saying "GOD IS MY CO-PILOT." When I passed it, I saw that the front left quarter had been badly damaged in an accident. Hmmm. . . .

I noticed today that the guy in the graphic on my homepage looks a lot like The Church of SubGenius' J. R. "Bob" Dobbs (except without his trademark pipe). I even named that guy Bob. It's a total coincidence. I am not affiliated with that church or the Illuminati (FNORD!) in any way.

2/6/02

I had absoulutely nothing to do with this project, but they put my name on it anyhow. Weird.

2/4/02

So the Patriots won the Super Bowl last night. And it was about 15 degrees in Hell (Michigan) today. Coincidence?

1/31/02

The weather forecast for today was "Wintry Mix." What the hell is that? Snow, freezing rain, sleet and pretzels, available in original and cool ranch?
