'CLEOPATRA' REDUX: Production has begun on location
in Morocco on the epic four-hour miniseries, ``Cleopatra,'' which will
air this season on ABC. The sets constructed in Morocco and on sound stages
at London's Shepperton Studios are the largest and most lavish ever assembled
for a TV miniseries and will include re-creations of ancient Rome and Alexandria.
More than 700 extras will appear in the battle scenes. The production stars
Timothy Dalton (``The Living Daylights'') as Julius Caesar, Billy Zane
(``Titanic'') as Marc Antony, and newcomer Leonor Varela (``The Man in
the Iron Mask'') as Cleopatra, Queen of
the Nile. Presumably an unknown plays the asp.
