I just finished putting a fish pond in at my house....thought you all might want to see ;-)  I dug up my old patio and dug the hole with a shovel.  I shaped the walls and floor of the pond by hand.  It measures about 12 feet by six feet.

Next, I slid the liner into the hole.  The liner was big and heavy and my back still hurts from wrestling it around....  If you decide to do this, get your friends drunk and make them help.  Once the liner was in, I put my edging down and concreted it into place.  I also put in a cool fountain head.

After the edging was all set, I cut the excess liner away, emptied and refilled the pond.  I stretched the liner as I cut it with a razor blade.  By doing so, the remaining liner slid back under the edging so it couldn't be seen.

Finally, I dropped a little bridge into place (which, I might add, I built!) and, VOILA!!!   THE FINISHED PRODUCT!
