As girls go
Still kind of look like a guy
I never thought to wonder why
If I could pull this off
Would I know for certain
The real situation
Behind the curtain
So beautiful
Damsel in distress
Not exactly natural
Stunning none the less
What happened to you
To make you more girl than girls are
Would you ever show or tell
Cause you're so good so far
Let's chronicle
The dark side of a life
Did you ever keep the date
With the steel side of the knife
Doesn't matter to me
Which side of the line
You happen to be
At any given time
You make a really good girl
As girls go
You make a really good girl
As girls go

Braveheart
The movie "Braveheart" is the story of how the Scottish people
united and freed themselves from the yoke of English rule. It is a perfect metaphor for our times. While the Scottish nobles squabbled amongst themselves and made their private deals with tyrannical English rulers to gain personal power, titles, and lands, they betrayed their own people. So it is with our so-called representatives in congress, who make deals to gain power, money, and keep themselves in office, remembering their constituents only at election time. The Scottish overthrow of the English also shows what the people can achieve against
tyranny, when they are united in their efforts to overthrow injustice and oppression. The story also demonstrates how compromise and deal-making are methods of the cowardly and weak...while bravery and steadfastness are the ways of a true leader. Even though he ultimately paid a high price, William Wallace was both a hero and a leader, true to himself and his compatriots.
America could use a leader like that right now.
