1. Try to be courteous. Failing that, at least try not to be an inconsiderate, antisocial jerk.
2. Don't send unsolicited private /msg's (or DCC's) to persons with whom you don't have permission. This applies especially to female nicks, who often get bombed with /msg's from the second they join.
3. If the channel is silent (which is a lot of the time), try to talk in channel instead of in private chat. It is in bad form (and a weak conversational gambit) to simply complain about how silent it is -- asking people questions might be a more effective conversation starter.
4. "Guest" nicks (i.e. Guest83949) are discouraged and may be kicked. To set a proper nick, the command is:

   /nick MyNewNick
   

   ... substituting the nick you want, of course. You should then register your nick with NickServ so that it can't be used by anyone else. The command:

   /msg NickServ REGISTER MyPassword
   

   ... and swap in a password of your own choosing.
5. Cybersex isn't exactly encouraged (because it's so extremely boring), but if the channel is silent it's okay for consenting people to cyber-scene. Please go private with this if it's going to disrupt other conversation. Presumptuously sceneing with someone who doesn't wish to participate is considered sexual harrassment.
6. Pic-trading (trading of x-rated pictures) is discouraged. There's better channels for that. Try this command:

   /list *pics*
   

... and you'll get a list of pic-trading channels.
7. Flooding, and related idiocy, are of course not allowed. Repetitious messages, especially trolling (e.g. "Any hot horny ladies in the Bonerland metro area /msg me right now!!"), will be categorized as "related idiocy".
8. ASCII art that disrupts channel conversation is discouraged. However, if the channel is silent, knock yrself out.
9. Typing in ALL CAPS is super irritating. Please cut it out.

If you don't like the channel rules

This isn't so hard people

We get feedback from people who say the above rules are really strict and complicated and they practically can't say anything!!! We humbly extend our apologies to such persons and invite them boycott #analsex by starting their own channels.

If you think you can do so much better

/join ChannelName

... using a channel name that is not already registered. To find out if that name is registered, try this:

/msg ChanServ ChannelName

If it's unregistered, you can register the channel as your very own by doing this:

/msg ChanServ REGISTER AnyGoodPassword

... swapping in the password of your choice.

We're sure to miss your company, but we'll get by somehow.
