Q. What is Silicon Valley Swirl?
A. Silicon Valley Singles Wanting InterRacial Love. It's a social group of single people who are inclined to date interracially. We will have events such as cocktail parties, happy hours, dinners and daytime outings where we can meet and mingle with like-minded individuals face to face.
Q. I'm married and would like to attend events with my spouse. Is that okay?
A. Absolutely. Couples who are already established are welcome to attend, and socialize with like-minded people. If you are paired up, you will be provided with a name tag indicating as much. This will be a fun, attitude-free environment where people can feel safe to love who they want. However, this is NOT a swingers club. Sorry, but there are plenty of other clubs out there for that.Q. I'm married and just looking for something casual. Can I find it here?
A. Ummm, No. This is for sincere singles who are genuinely interested in meeting others and establishing friendships, and hopefully more.Q. How much does it cost?
A. There are presently no membership fees. Some events will be free. Cost for other events will be based on location, food, activities, etc. The cost will be no more than $15 for a cocktail party, and discounts will be offered for those who RSVP. Cost will be stated upfront prior to each event.Q. What is the minimum/maximum age?
A. The minimum age for this group is 21 years old. This is because most of the parties will take place where alcohol is being served, and likely consumed. There is no maximum age. Currently, the age range of the members is mid-20's to late 40's.Q. What is the ratio of men to women?
A. Currently, we have more men than women signed up. Incentives will be offered for inviting more women to join. These incentives will include discounts for men who bring female friends (not dates) and free for women. This offer will be made on a per event basis, and will be stated upfront.Q. What is the racial makeup?
A. We currently have Black, White, Indian, Asian, and Hispanic members. This group is not restrictive.Q. How much personal information do I have to divulge to join the club?
A. When you join at Onelist, you will need to fill out a profile and the only mandatory information you need to provide is an accurate email address so that you will be able to receive information about upcoming events. Everything else is optional. Please remember though, that you will be meeting other members in person, so if you make up an alias, make sure it isn't something that you'll be embarrassed about later. ;-)Q. I don't want to use my work email to receive information about parties.
A. That's okay! You can get a free email account from Yahoo, Excite, or Hotmail and use that account when you sign up at Onelist.Q. I don't want to sign up at Onelist. Can you email me privately?
A. Due to an overwhelming amount of email expressing interest, I cannot keep a personal address book for this club at this time. It would be an administrative nightmare. Please keep an eye on our Upcoming Events page, or call the Information Line which will include all of the information on our next events. The phone number is (408)236-3460. I'll be sure to put details of all upcoming events on that hotline. You can also leave a message with any questions you may have.Q. I have questions this page didn't answer. What do I do?
A. Email me!Q. My questions have all been answered and I'm ready to get my Swirl on! What's next?
A. Sign up here!
