Defination
of FAITH: trust, strong belief, unquestioning confidience
(Oxford dictionary). my walk with GOD.
God
has placed within all of us a desire to come into companionship
with Him. When we respond to our longing and find
God,
there is no longer a doubt about His existence and our need.
During the 1990s millions of atheists in Russia renounced
atheism and turned to God, a university professor in St.
Petersburg whose field is astronomy made a statement that
typifies the comments made by many transformed atheists
in the former Soviet Union: "I have
searched for a meaning to life in my scientific research,
but found nothing to have confidence in. The scientists
around me feel the same vacuum. As I looked at the vastness
of the universe in my study of astronomy, and the emptiness
of my soul, I felt there must be some meaning. Then, when
I received the Bible you gave me and
began reading it, the vacuum in my life was filled. I have
found the Bible to be the only source of confidence to my
soul. I have accepted Jesus as my Saviour and have found
true peace, comfort, and satisfaction in life."
A
Christian believes in God because he or she has met Him
and discovers that He satisfies the heart's deepest needs.
The God whom Christians have joyfully found to exist, gives
us a new perspective, new meaning, new motives, new purposes,
and new joys.
The
above is a fine example that not only applies to scienist,
but how most of us feel about life. What I find interesting
is, like the scientists search for evidence or proof to
justify their findings, people in general, are searching
for evidence in the religion they choose as well. Alot of
people could not accept the fact that God created this earth.
That someone(in their context) is sent down from heaven?...to
die for us?...to wash away our sin?...Who would believe
that? Only people who still believes in Santa Claus? This
is how I thought about Christainity before I was converted.
It all sounds too magical, too fairytail.
Just
like the dinasours and the earth is flat. Nobody believes
until someone dig up some huge bones or when someone travels
to the far ocean and found they are back in the same place
they started. Someone believes only when they see evidience.
I
am trying to remember how was I convienced that God created
this earth, that Jesus died for us on the cross to save
us from our sins and believing him will save us from salvation.
The truth is, I am not sure if i am convienced myself? Perhaps
I just choose to believe? I want to believe, because I truely
feel his presense sometimes looking over me. It is so over
powerly I break down everytime I feel it. Does God really
create this earth? It is an awesome job to be able to create
it and the elements that comes with it. The enormous magnitude
to create it. Humans are so complicated, the earth is always
evolving, how did he do that? Do I question too much? When
you put faith in something, you dont question. Is it wrong
to place my faith in something I cannot see? It isn't what
my experience in life has taught me.
