HISTORY:

Echoes of Gladness is a young ladies' vocal ensemble out of Faith Alliance Church in Durham, NC. We got together around Thanksgiving of 1996. The most special part about the Echoes is that we are all good friends, and we always have fun singing together. Unfortunately, we won't be singing together as often as we used to, due to the separation of our members. The five of us are now at several different locations. Our farewell concert (also a fundraiser for youth group summer activities) was on May 17, 1998, at Faith Alliance. The concert was a huge success, with attendence over 100 and about $1600 raised for Child Evangelism Fellowship and the Life '98 Youth Conference.

MEMBERS:

  • Stephanie Woodside, formerly Stephanie Talley, is a resident of Durham, North Carolina. She sings first soprano.

  • Sarah Shaver is a graduate student at Appalachian State University, studying speech pathology. She sings first soprano.

  • Joanna Likness is a 5th grade teacher in High Point, North Carolina. She sings second soprano.

  • Tarah Shaver is a student at UNC-Chapel Hill, studying Spanish. She sings second soprano.

  • Sonja Likness is an administrative assistant at the UNC Neuroscience Center. She is our faithful alto.

  • Sara Likness is a musician and mother of four. She directs, manages, and accompanies the Echoes.
