Special Insight About Diana's Death

Over the last few months since the death of Princess Diana, I have thought of things that should be given special consideration:

The paparazzi isn't the only one to blame. Guess who the accomplice is? We, the people. Why? We were not the ones who chased Diana and Dodi into the tunnel. Why?

Because we wanted the perfect shot and the juicy information about Diana. The paparazzi was merely doing their job: to satisfy the people's hunger about Diana so they could put a roof on their heads. So they could survive.

It wasn't the paparazzi who didn't want to see Diana withdraw from the public. It was us. We wanted her to stay there. We couldn't let her go. We continued following her, using the paparazzi as a medium to get what we want. Sure, we had good intentions: we wanted to see her settled. But too much can be bad. Things got more heated when Diana spent much time with Dodi al Fayed. We wanted to follow Diana's life more than ever. Now we put all the blame on the paparazzi. Sure, they get half of the blame. But we get the other half. Our curiosity went spinning out of control and chased Diana to her death.

I am not defending the paparazzi. I am pointing our mistake so we do not kill another person, most probably Prince William, teenage heartthob, with our curiosity.

Any comments, objections? I'd be glad to know what you think. Send me Email
