I joined the U.S.Navy June 26th 1948 on my 19th birthday.Boot camp and I.C.Electrician school in San Diego,Ca.Boarded USS Fechteler in Bremmerton,Wa.9 mo.cruise in 1949. home port Subic Bay, P.I. 2nd cruise Korea in 1950 during the war. I was sent back to the states and assigned to the USS The Sullivans DD537.It was a WW2 destroyer and being put back in commission.While assigned to the Sullivans we went to the east coast,via the Panama Canal and I was discharged April 23rd 1952 in Boston,Ma.At discharge, I was a IC 3rd Class.
