KCC in the News

The independent King City Club includes male students who attend Bangor High School and John Bapst Memorial High School.

Shortly before Halloween, club members were discussing the idea of a Halloween party that could serve as a fund-raiser.

Andrew Bourgoin, Aaron Parcak, and Greg Johnston proposed sponsoring a Halloween dance to raise funds for Manna Ministries.

With the support of parents such as J.P. and Marge Parcak, who said the club could use the downstairs of the former Benjamin's Tavern on Franklin Street in Bangor, and Patti and Thom Johnston, Judy and Richard Loukes, and Al Bourgoin, who said they would chaperone, the idea got into full swing, with different club members assuming responsibility for getting this fund-raiser going.

Seth Gass, Nick Loukes and Jeff Bower pulled together the sound and lighting system, and E.J. Hughes, B.J. Carr, Adam Goode, Justin Allen, Alex Small, Tae Chung, Tony Margaronis, John Leonard and Richard Laferte assumed responsibility for everything from serving as doormen to serving refreshments.

The result was a great dance and good time all around, plus the most important part: the club raised more than $500 for Manna Ministries at a time of year when funds are especially needed.
