I quite honestly was shocked on Sunday, August 31, 1997 when I was lying on my bed watching MTV enjoying my last day of Summer vacation when my little brother came in and told me of Princess Diana's sudden death. I spent the next week watching all the specials on her. I don't think I really realized the impact of her death, or the reality, until the 20/20 special on Friday, September 5, 1997, just a few hours before the funeral. I taped the funeral as it was on at 2:00 am my time, and I do not yet know when I will have the courage to watch such a memorable and greif-stricken event. My thoughts go out to her entire family, espically her sons Prince William and Prince Harry. I cannot imagine losing my mother at such a young age. I have grown up watching and admiring Diana's work, and I know that I will miss her a great deal. Her effect on the world was tremendous, and it will take a long time to get over it, if we ever do. Personally, I don't think we can.
