MY MASK

Putting on my happy mask,

I turn to face the day.

It will hide my sorrows from the world,

And help me go my way.

Walking through the streets of life,

It's not me that you will see.

You may walk into my life and go,

But you will never see the true me.

All my scars and hopes and feelings,

Are hidden from your sight.

Maybe one day I'll start peeling,

These layers from my face.

Maybe then you'll really see,

The true and honest and scared me.
