When JC Chasez first came to Orlando to do "The New Mickey Mouse Club", He met Joey Fatone through a mutual friend and they started to hang out.  Two years  later when MMC added seven new cast members, one of which was Justin Timberlake.  JC and Justin were in several music numbers on the show and they discovered they had a really nice musical blend.  In the mean time, Joey was busy going to school,doing plays, and landing a job at Universal Studios where he met Chris Kirkpatrick.  Two years later when MMC ceased production, JC and Justin were bitten by the show buisness bug and they knew that they had to find another project to work on.  They were working with the same vocal writers in Nashville, Tn on separate solo projects when Justin was called to audition to guess where? back in Orlando.  Well, that group didn't work out, but there was one guy that Justin really hit it off with, that person was Chris.  Back in Orlando the guys got together for a night on the town.  At a local dance club, Chris and JC ran into Joey and introduced him to Justin.  The guys instantly clicked.  In fact that were so good together on the dance floor that everyone knew what group they were in.  Well, the seed have been planted.  They got together to harmonize  to check out their sound and of course it was a perfect blend.  The only thing that was missing was a bass voice.  The guys began to look around for the perfect person to round out the group.  They check out high school and college chrous members before Justin decided to call an old vocal coach of his in Tennessee who he knew coached several guys.  He found Lance"Lansten"Bass. He was sixteen at the time.. Well the guys contacted Lance and asked him to come down to Orlando for an audition.  He flew down and as soon as he opened his mouth to sing  the guys knew he was the one.  The rest as the say his history.

The Guys got together and it didn't take them long to figure out that  JustiN,ChriS,JoeY,LansteN,and JC were.
