Callyn Elisabeth Gillespie
May 13, 1992 - May 26, 1992
University of Cincinnati
Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Callyn was born by emergency c-section during my sixth month
of pregnancy because of complications arising from eclampsia.
Eclampsia can be fatal to both baby and mother.

Weighing 1 lb, 2 oz, she was indeed my beautiful little
girl.  For thirteen days, we rode an emotional rollercoaster
through what can only be described as Hell.

In the end, her little lungs were too immature to sustain life
and she died in my arms at 11:30 a.m. on May 26, 1992,
changing my life forever..

"I don't think of all the misery,
but of all the beauty that still remains."
Anne Frank

After this happened to us, I became acutely aware of every baby
story in the news, every missing child story, every sadness. .
