The Escape Pod

Tired of sitting around in this site? Well, have no fear, I'll let you find somewhere else to go. Below is a listing of the sites that I've either visited and enjoyed enough to go back, or ones that are just overall very well done. They are organized into alphabetical categories and each link is in alphabetical order within the category. Have a little fun, get yourself an e-mail address, or learn a little bit about something.

Comic Sites

Doonesbury@Slate
Garry Trudeau has been drawing "Doonesbury" comic strips since Ocotober of 1970. At this site, you can catch up with the latest news, play interactive games, take a quiz, and my favorite, search the archives and read all of the previous strips. A great site for anyone who loves and thinks this comic is funny.

* * *

The Official Site for Garfield and Friends
The world's favorite comic cat, Garfield, now has his own web site! See how the fat cat has evolved over the years and anything else you want to know. With a new layout, this site looks as good as any other out there.

* * *

Sluggy Freelance
Perhaps one of the strangest, yet funniest, comic strips I have ever read in my life. Follow the adventures of Torg and friends as they accidently destroy, kill, and wreak havoc on the world they live in. If anything, read because of Bun-Bun, the knife-wielding rabbit. Trust me, it sounds weird, but it's great stuff.

* * *

Fox Trot by Bill Amend
Join Jason, Peter, Paige, Andy, and Roger Fox on the web site for the comic strip that millions love. Bill Amend does as good a job with a web site as he does with the strip, allowing you to catch up on old strips, buy merchandise, and of course, play games.

* * *

UExpress--The Home of Universal Press Syndicate
A site for Universal Press, which includes a few comic strips we know and love.

* * *

United Media
Site for comics like Dilbert and Peanuts.

MST3K Sites

The Official Site

Satellite News
This is the official home of "Mystery Science Theater 3000" online. It contains news on the former cast of the show, a history of the show, a very up-to-date FAQ, the entire Sci-Fi Channel content, and a whole lot more.

Unofficial Sites

*Please note that anyone of these sites could come down at any time, if not already. I apologize for any bad links in here due to last minute collapses of sites.

This web site features what many of us MSTies want the most, sounds! Find sounds from season two through season eight. Many can't be find anywhere else.

* * *

Flying Elves are Back! - MST3K at Hi-Keeba!
Taking its title from a line in the short in "Manos: The Hands of Fate," this is like many sites that have not been updated in a while. In fact, it hasn't been updated since April, 2000. Outdated, but still fun to look at.

* * *

The Hexfield Viewscreen
This site features the usual dosage of MST3K information while letting us in on a fascination with the hexfield viewscreen. Strange, but certainly not boring.

* * *

Welcome to Crowmistie: presents MST3K
This site is more like one big advertisement for MST3K-related merchandise. At least the merchandise is updated for the most part. If you're looking to see what's available to buy though, you'd be better off going to the offical news site up above.

* * *

MSTies Anonymous
This site formerly resided with America Online, but the maintainer has since set up his own server. This web site includes information on the show, details of a trip to the last Convention, an MST3K trivia, and a place to sign up for a newsletter. All in all, a good site.

This is the home for the magazine The Rolling Stone, however the site really has its problems. There seems to be a problem every once in a while involving the server causing a blank page to appear. What I did manage to see impressed me though.

* * *

The Weather Channel Online
Ever wonder how the weather's gonna be, see a local radar, or learn about weather? Well, this is the place to go. It's the web site produced by the only 24 hour channel devoted to weather. You can customize the page to appear how you want it to appear, which is an added bonus.

Personal Home Pages

The Brat's World
Poetry and pictures of a Canadien girl. Not much else here though.

* * *

The Downward Spiral
This site is all about the dominating views of the woman who maintains it. I remember her being black, but I could be wrong, but even so, this is a good site. Just beware the pop-up windows at the start.

* * *

Kreal Graphics
This is my mom's first attempt at a web site for a class at school. It's based around the drawings of my highly talented younger sister. The pictures in there are as they normally appear, except with some colorization and some touching up. It also has a section called "Kreal Graphics," where my mom displays what she's created.

* * *

pamie.com
After a bit of a hiatus, this site is back in full-swing. Read about the life of one of the funniest girls around, whose sense of humor is beyond anything I could wish for. See the inspiration behind what keeps my site going. Hell, just laugh.

* * *

[sarahbagley.com]
This site is too fancy for it's own good, but for all the graphics and pictures, there's really not much more to it than that. It does feature a bio, pictures, and an obsession with shnauzers.

* * *

To Keep an Idiot Busy...
This site is so stupid and pointless, yet incredibly funny. Just try and press the button that shows up in the middle of the screen. You'll be surprised at what happens.

Sports Sites

Cleveland Browns Online
Now that the Browns are back, read up on the latest news, personnel, and history of the franchise before it was moved to Baltimore by the anti-Christ Art Modell.

* * *

Cleveland Indians Baseball
The official site of the Cleveland Indians, this site features a constantly updated area for games in progress, a history of the Tribe, a virtual tour of Jacob's Field, and a whole lot more. For the first time, the site may actually be better than the team itself.

* * *

ESPN.COM
The site for all you sports fanatics from the only 24-hour sports station on cable. Well, besides FOXSPORTS and ESPN2 and ESPNEWS that is. This is my personal favorite for finding out about what's going on in the world of sports.

* * *

NFL.COM
The official site of the NFL. Gee, I hope they didn't hurt themselves thinking of the title. Then again, with all the concussions being suffered, this probably looks like a stroke of genius to some of the players.

* * *

Video Game Sites

Bungie.Net
The creators of Halo, Halo 2, and the upcoming Halo 3 keep you up to speed on the latest information on all their projects, often in amusing ways. Features videos, pictures, and updates on Halo 3.

* * *

Another one of my favorite magazines is available online with content that adds to the already great coverage that you'll find in the magazine. Also has content exclusive for those who are subscribers, like myself.

One of my favorite video game magazines is online with information on the latest games, news, and anything else you could want. Also has strageties for the latest games for those who are stuck.

If you want to find a downloadable version of classic music from a game, this is the site to check. Featuring thousands of sound files from every video game system conceived, this is heaven for anyone who loves the music from older games such as I do.

Web Utilities/Chat Sites

Hotmail
The title's actually longer than that, but it's too long. From Microsoft, Hotmail is one of the best out there for those of you interested in having your own e-mail address for free. It is very easy to navigate around the various features, this is high-ranking in terms of free e-mail.

* * *

HotorNot
One of the many, many, rating sites that are out there. It also allows you the chance to meet some of the people that you rate. You never know what you'll find.

* * *

Geocities
This web site allows you to do what I'm doing right now; make a web site. Using it's various editors, you don't have to know HTML to be able to make a web site with Geocities. There is a registration form to fill out, but it's pretty straightforward. All-in-all, this is a good place to start your web site building.

* * *

MySpace
The largest, most popular community site around. Although it's buggy and unreliable at times, it's somehow addicting anyway. Hell, I don't have to explain this to anyone. If you haven't heard of it, it's because you've been under a rock.

* * *

SWYDM?
Another rating site, this one's more fleshed out, allowing you to talk to different people, look at galleries, and a whole lot of other things as well. My current favorite, even if it is plagued by those who find joy insulting perfect strangers.

Other Sites

Virtual Florist
This site allows you to send that special someone a virtual rose, teddy bear with hearts, and other objects through e-mail. Just select what you want to use, fill in the text, and submit it. It's a good way to tell someone you're thinking about them. Try it today.
