I am a karaoke FREAK!! :) I LOVE to do karaoke. Probably because I love to sing. I have been told I am pretty good too (but I don't know about that!) Actually, after a while of everyone telling you something, you come to believe it. Especially if one of the people who is telling you is Nashville producer, Robert Metzgar. I actually auditioned for him on 10/29/2005 at the Clarion Hotel by the Tucson airport. His comment to me on his evaluation form is "Carina has an incredible vocal range. She reminds you of Olivia Newton-John in the earlier years. Has a wonderful falsetto and head voice that transcends into a commercial sound on songs like 'I Will Always Love You' w/a flair of Whitney Houston". Pretty cool, huh. I even used to have my own karaoke show on Friday and Sunday nights at Famous Sam's. I used to work for a company called 'Outback Entertainment'. I ended up stopping for maternity leave and have now decided not to go back. I also used to attend my friend, Stacie's, show every so often. Currently, though, I now frequent Margarita Bay. It is kind of a 'hole in the wall' bar but they have karaoke EVERY NIGHT OF THE WEEK and their drink prices are very reasonable. Another reason I love going to this bar is there are a lot of regulars who go and it has that familial air about it. I normally sing 'If I Could Turn Back Time', 'Black Velvet', 'From a Distance', several different country songs and almost any song by Kid Rock. I could just go on and on, but I will stop for now. Hopefully I will see you there sometime. |
