Character: Detective Lisa West

You may not see her often on OLTL, but Christine Toy Johnson’s Detective West has been recurring around Llanview for a while now. According to Johnson: “It’s funny because [the writers] always referred to me as Detective West. And then I picked up the script and it sad, ‘Detective Lisa.’ [I was} like, ‘Who’s Detective Lisa? Oh, it’s me! I have a name!’” She confides that when she first came on the show, the first name was initially given was different. “Back then it was Mei West. It was going to be in one script; it was a joke. I was referred to as Mei by John Sykes [John Bolger] and RJ [Timothy D. Stickney]. But when my character became more of a person and had contact with other characters, [the powers-that-be] thought we’d better give her a real name, so I became Lisa. Character: Carlotta Vega

Patricia Mauceri created the role of Carlotta Vega, a passionate widow and mother trying to raise her teenage son, Cristian, and run her business, a popular neighborhood diner. Born in Brooklyn, New York, Patricia began her acting career performing in high school. She landed her first off-off-Broadway role in La Mama’s production of Woyzeck while at Queens College. Some of her television credits include roles in The Eddie Matos Story and The Babysitters Club, both for cable; Law & Order, Ghostwriter and Kojak. Patricia currently resides in Manhattan with her son, Alexander. -from ABC Daytime

Character: Reverend Andrew Carpenter

Wortham Krimmer plays Reverend Andrew Carpenter, whose heartfelt advice and gentle demeanor have comforted the souls of many Llanview residents. In 1993, Soap Opera Digest named Andrew Carpenter Best Hero, no doubt for the pivotal role he played in One Life to Live's landmark homophobia storyline, which culminated in the display of the Names Project AIDS Memorial Quilt. Wortham was born and raised in Chicago. When not required on the set, Wortham spends all of his time with his wife Mary Ellen, a photographer; their beautiful son, Max, and equally beautiful daughter, Tess. -from ABC Daytime
