My favorite Aerosmith song is Seasons of Wither (from their 2nd album, Get Your Wings). Its not a very common song so I highly doubted that they'd play it, especially since they're touring for their Just Push Play album. But anyway, we got there around 3:30 (concert started at 7:30) and just had a little cook-out in the parking lot w/ hamburgers and soda and stuff. It was lotsa fun. My friend Kate and I decided to walk around the outside of the arena for a while just to take a walk, and maybe try to peak through gates to see if we could catch a glimpse of the band, but we couldn't. I don't know how many times I said to Kate I wish they'd play my favorite song. Now I'm starting to wonder if one of them heard me. But anyway, I'd say there were about 20 of us there. Me and Kate had seats together way in the second-to-the-last section. During the middle of the concert, they ran out through this tunnel thing to another stage that was set up in the middle of the arena. We stayed there for probably the first 3 songs and then decided to run down to the field seats and see how close we could get. It took us about 30 seconds to run down and crawl through the crowd, leaving us just a couple feet away from the stage. I actually could see Steven Tyler and Joe Perry in person for the first time in my life - not on a tv, poster, cd cover, or the big screen for the concert. They were right there! It was unbelievable. They played Dream On and several other "Aerosmith oldies". Thats when he said, "you like those old ones, don't ya?" to the crowd. Everyone screamed, whistled, clapped...And then they escaped into the tunnel and returned to the main stage again. Kate and I tried to squeeze our way out again toward the side. We made our way over to an open area separating the front and middle section of seats. There were security guards all around making sure ppl don't pass through. So we stayed there and danced and sang the night away. And then amazingly....I heard the first notes of Seasons of Wither. I was ready to pass out. I was so shocked that I was willing to ask one of the cute security guards to dance with me for it, but then I figured..he didn't look too happy after all. Then Joe Perry took a huge lead at the end of the song....he just went crazy with the distortion and the amps, it was so cool. I was playing air guitar the whole time. lol That was where we spent the rest of the concert. I'm so happy we moved though, if we didn't I wouldn't have had near as much fun. I got some pics developed. Wish I would've tried to sneak my camera into the arena. I could've put it under my huge hat I was wearing (ya know, the kind steve wheres on stage sometimes) and no one would've even noticed. Oh well. I love Aerosmith. I love Joe Perry. I love guitar. I love talent. And I love good music. Wow.
