Rant 08/27/01

Ya know, some people are just impossible. Really. No matter how hard you try to get along with them, you just can't. Ya bend over backwards to stay out of their way, and they still find reason to complain. I have determined that my *former* roommate is not one of those people.

Rather, he is the sort who doesn't even give himself a chance to get angry. To that end, he refuses even to attempt new challenges. He's not the sort who gives up shortly after starting, and he's not the sort who just doesn't try; he's obviously the sort who doesn't even consider trying.

Trying what? you ask. Trying to live with a non-athlete. Yeah, my former roommate and former suitemates are all varsity basketball players. The suitemates and I have gotten along just fine the first few days of the semester, but my roommate hasn't even met me yet. However, he is *already* demanding that I leave, and I have no option but to comply.

What, precisely, does that entail? Well, I must leave precious 4th Floor, the greatest study place on campus. I must forfeit and entire Saturday's worth of work that I used to get all of my stuff (two cars full plus twice that in the storage room) upstairs. I must set my rebellious computer up again. I must redecorate. And, I must re-clean my room. My suitemates aren't too happy about it, either. They, as I have mentioned, got along well with me, and they also rather liked the Sega Dreamcast(TM) that I brought with me.

By this time tomorrow I'll be down on rotten 2nd Floor, living with some German CompSci major, a guy I don't know, and a guy from Turkey. Sure, I might end up happy there, but for now, I am quite inconvenienced, and quite annoyed.

Yeah, people can be jerks.
