Percy: So do you favor killing them [Muslims]?
haliluyah: Yes I do!!
Percy: How is that any different, then?
haliluyah: They're Heathens and they're terroists.
Percy: Most Muslims do not acknowledge the Taliban.
Percy: So,
haliluyah: We have a right because we are God's people and we are of the true
religion and that being Christiantiy. These people are the children of the anti-
christ.
Percy: if I were to introduce you to my Muslim friend Merziyah, would you favor
killing her?
haliluyah: Most Muslims secretly support the Talibans. i am not gonna be
decieved into thinking any differently.
haliluyah: I am not gonna kill her because that would be illegal but she is a
heathen and if she was killed I would care less. i am arabic but I Hate Islam!!
Percy: Are we not called to love everyone?
Percy: Doesn't God love Merziyah?
He went on to say, in so many words, that God supposedly hates her. Merziyah is one of the nicest people I know, and I value her friendship very much. It hurts me to hear such things. I mean, it's one thing for someone not to care about some faceless entity on the other side of the planet who just murdered thousands of people. (Granted, it's a bad thing, but it's still possible to understand such callousness.) However, we are talking about an innocent girl at my school. Someone who has been my friend for a long time. Someone who cares about others, including me, even though we don't all share her religious beliefs. A girl who smiles when I refer to Pakistan's cricket team. The same girl who once skipped class to walk me to the health center when I was sick.
She is just as good a person as I am, if not better. Why, then, can he say he wouldn't care if she died? HOW DARE HE SAY SUCH A THING?
What can we say to these people? Has no one learned anything about the consequences of hate from the attacks?
