Nominated for the team with a ringing endorsement from Superman, Batman, and Green Lantern, Aztek certainly looks as though he's set to become a high-flyer in the new Justice League. However, as will soon come to light, there is evidence from his past that links him to a global conspiracy reaching into the farthest corners of the DC Universe, the new Injustice Gang and a reclusive cult who plans to usher in the end of the world at the earliest opportunity. Aztek himself is a well-meaning innocent, engulfed by events beyond his control and manipulated by the one of the smartest men alive, Lex Luthor. His membership in the League had created a moral dilemma: he wanted to help, but in joining he might have provided a terrible force of evil with the means of defeating the team forever. Only the Martian Manhunter was ever suspicious of his membership. Fortuantly, Aztek resigned before Luthor could use Aztek for his own ends.
