An alien by birth and an Earthman by choice, Superman was an remains the world's greatest super-hero. The guiding force behind the formation of the new Justice League and the example metahumans across the globe must aspire to, Superman's existence has forever changed the world. The moment his presence on Earth was officially declared, a shift occured in the public consciousness which has altered social trends, religious beliefs, street fashions, and race relations. The world knows Superman will always be there for them and, though he accepts his role as an iconic hero-figure, he occasionally longs to be accepted as an average human. Even the other members of the Justice League expect him to perform miracles, with the notable exception of Batman, who recognizes that even Superman has limitations. Some suspect this may be the basis for the strong bond between them.
