Admission to TAS is by a competitive nationwide exam following primary school. Entering students have a preminary "Prep" year intensive English instruction. Next, they enter the "Orta" or middle school for three years, followed by the high school or "Lise" of three years. In Orta and Lise years curriculum and electives are in an English/Turkish bilingual setting.
Extra-curricular clubs; social service, sports, folk dance, business, music, drama, debate, library and others vie for attention. From Prep through Lise years student interaction with the foreign staff enlarges personal horizons and provides a world perspective.
At all levels the school seeks to prepare students socially and etnically in those intrinsic human values that lead to richer, fuller lives, as well as active and creative roles in society. Upon graduation students are ready for university work in either English or Turkish language.
TAS provides one of the nations strongest and most respected secondary programs. Students continually place high both in nationwide academic completion and in university entrance exams.
