A warning to all you pit bull owners in the Savannah area. The residents are trying to push a new orderance that will put yet more restrictions on the owning of APBTs. If you ask me I think it is a good idea. I know some of you true pit owners are probably jumping loops right now and a lot of the old dog owners are turning in their graves, but let me explain.
I think that this new law will weed out all of those bad and part-time pit owners who are just in it for the thrills. I also think it will bring the breed back on the path it was intended. It will get rid of all those showboaters who just want a dog for show or to make it known to the world that they own one. It will also take more focus off the true dog men and let them work in peace.
But with this new law about to be passed. The true dog men should watch out, for their are those people who will sell you up the river just to make point. You know the ones that just want let you rest, and will stop at nothing to stick it to you. I mean those bullbashers.
I think this law will benefit APBT owners in the long run. Well in the Savannah area at least.
I think it's a damn shame that one pit bull and owner can miss it up you millions of dog owners in America. You know with this new law being passed it is supposed to put a kink in the owning of so called visious dogs. But who is to be the judge of what dogs are considered visious.
Look folks their are many dogs in this country that bite people more often that pit bulls do and a stink is never raised about any of them. Lets take the cocker spaniel for intense. This dog has the highest bite rate in the country and no laws are being passed. I don't think it's fare, but who cares what I think right.
I'm not saying that the cocker spaniel is a visious dog but lets look at the facts. If the way to judge a dogs visiousness is by bitting, then the cocker spaniel is the most visious dog in america.
Not to single out the cocker spaniel, as the pit bull is so often done. Their are many other dogs that are sure to fit the mold of being visious. Lets take the doberman, german sheppard and rock. They are all much larger than the pit bull and they are all trained to attack and their are never any laws passed to restrain them. Yet their are still others; the akita, the bull mastiff, chinesse fightings and all bulldogs that bit more than the little old pit bull, but because it makes a better story to the press they are never mentioned.
Another thing too. I know I speak for all pit dog men in america when I say that I am sick and tired of the media classifing every cur with 1% of APBT blood as a full blooded APBT. These are more often than not the dogs that are doing a majority of the bitting across the country; as far as pit bulls are concerned.
Here is a little known fact. When two animals of a different breed are mixed together the offspring are unstable. Just a little something to think about when you judge.
Back to the law. I can already see where this is headed so all pit bull onwers need beware, the good ones as well as the bad ones. The APBT will be singled out. And for this I think it's a damn shame!
