-August 12 2000- I just got back from the concert in Scranton. Live is really awesome! None of us really like Counting Crows much so since Live came on first we left when they were done. My favorite song by them is Dance With You and I was hoping all day that they would play it. I was a little worried though since its not really a hit song. The first song they played was All Over You from their album Throwing Copper. Then later on they played The Dolphin's Cry and everyone was goin crazy. And later they played Lightening Crashes and ppl were getting out their lighters and singing. When they were done they left and came out to play a few songs for the encore and I was really hoping they'd play my song since they didn't play it yet. They started playing I Alone and I thought that was gonna be it. Everyone was jumpin around and stuff and then they played some more. Then he anounced..."I dunno if all of yas know this one...its called Dance With You." I was so happy. It ended up bein the last song and they ended it so well. He announced each person one by one and they did their solo and then left the stage. After he announced the drummer, the last one, he played by himself for a bit and it sounded great. In the middle of the concert he'd give a couple good speaches. One was that they're never on the radio because they don't really go w/ other songs on the radio. Thats cuz the radio likes sucky music. And he went on to say that he can't stand the Backstreet Boys or Britney Spears or any of that. Everyone was cheering him on. But what I liked even more about it is when he started saying that big things come from small places. Live is originally from around here and he said how they started out playing in the local bars and places like that. Thats pretty much how all bands start out. Then he was saying give credit to the local bands that you see playing at the blockparties and such and support them all you can cuz thats where it all starts. I totally agree w/ him.
