This section of my site will be dedicated to lesser known musicians that I've discovered and admire. Promoting good, unknown music is very important to me. Struggling artists depend on their fans to spread their name.

I only have a few so far because I'm so busy, but I really wanted to get these names out there in the meantime. If anyone out there knows of some bands/artists that I should include, PLEASE contact me. I'll check them out, buy the cd, and add them. Seriously...it's impossible to own too many CD's. I wish everyone felt that way...rather than resorting to the internet.

Jonatha Brooke

Okay, this girl you have got to check out. My absolute favorite songwriter. She's often listed under contemporary folk, but I think she combines such a variety of genres that her sound is just so unique. Acoustic guitar, amazing vocals, some piano, and occasionally accompanied by her band as well as other musicians/vocalists. Her lyrics are so inspiring and relative to so many situations. You just have to see for yourself. Check out her website!

Patty Larkin

I would describe her as an extremely talented guitar player, primarily acoustic, vocals that are perfect for the music, and wonderful lyrics. Also a folk songwriter. My CD of choice would be "A Go-Go". The idea behind the title captured me as well as the music. Highly recommended.

Lilith Fair Tour 1999

Okay, I know this isn't a songwriter or band, but it's a whole pile of them. Anyone out there who doesn't own the cd should get it. 50% of proceeds are donated to RAINN and LifeBeat, in addition to spreading awareness of many artists. It's a very good collection of musicians and has much variety. Songwriters include Sarah McLachlan, Patty Griffin, Meredith Brooks, Jewel, Paula Cole, Lisa Loeb, Dar Williams, and more.
