The only person ever born on the planetary inferno of Apokolips to truly escape it, Barda is defined by three things: the ferocious combat skills she learned at the backhand of Grany Goodness the indomitable warrior spirit that guides and fules those skills and her love for the man she risked the fury of Darkseid to be with, Scott Free, a.k.a. Mister Miracle. It was his own unbeatable spirit that gave her the inspiration, his unconditonal acceptance of her that gave her the strength to believe in herself and defy Darkseid's savage elite lieutenants. But her immortal devotion to her husband has never quited the urge to prove her worth in battle drilled into her at Granny Goodness' Orphanage. Now assigned to the JLA to keep an eye on the unpredictable Orion, Barda might well enoy her time battling alongside the world's greatest heroes, were it not for her forced seperation from her husband.
