1. PHILIPPE ROTH Jr: Born 27 Jun 1826, Volksberg, Bas-Rhin,
    Alsace-Lorraine, France, died 19 Nov 1883 Rocdhes-Sur-Marne,
    Haute-Marne, France. (St. Dizier). He married Catherine Lutmann,
    born 1836, Alsace-Lorraine, died 28 Jan 1876, St. Dizier, France.
    (d/o Pierre Lutmann and Catherine Scheiler).
    Catherine buried St. Dizier, France.
    They had 2 children. Philippe and Lea.

    Philippe Roth Jr., re-married Therese Denig.

         (1) PHILIPPE ROTH: Born 26 Mar 1867, St. Dizier, France, died
              26 Jul 1924. On the 17 Nov 1890, he married Maria Eugenie
              Remy, born 1 Nov 1869, Orconte, France., died 22 Jun 1950,
              Aube, France. (d/o Louis Remy and Therese Madeline Foret).
              Both buried St. Dizier, France.
              They had 5 children. Henriette, Louis, Lea, Rene-Maria and
              Maria.

              Philippe was a blacksmith and worked in the blast furnace
              section of a steel plant.

              He was 9 years of age when his mother died. His father took
              to drinking and as a result he could not look after his 2 children.
              The Catholic Church took custody of the children. Philippe was
              sent to a farm in Switzerland. At the age of 12 years he ran
              away. He was found by the police and returned to his father,
              who had re-married and no longer living in St. Dizier. He didn't
              get along with his step-mother, so he ran away again. He
              eventually returned to St. Dizier, where he married, raised a
              family and is buried.
              His sister Lea was given to "a couple" and she eventually was
              taken to Canada and ended up in an orphanage in Northern
              Manitoba where she met her future husband. How she got to
              Canada and how or who put her in the orphanage is not
              known.

              Philippe never saw his sister again, although they did write to
              each other.

                  (A) HENRIETTE "THERESE" ROTH: Born 25 Oct 1891,
                       St. Dizier, France, died 1974, Aube, France. In 1912
                       she married Rene Edmond Rolin, who died in 1945.
                       Both buried St. Dizier, France.
                       They had 9 children. Roger, Philippe, Georgette, George,
                       Odette & Marcelle (Twins), Andrew, Marguerite &
                       Fernand (Twins).

                  (B) LOUIS PHILIPPE ROTH: Born 13 Feb 1894, died 8 Aug
                       1894.
                       Buried St. Dizier, France.

                  (C) LEA CATHERINE ROTH: Born 3 Mar 1897, died 24 Dec
                        1938. In 1920 she married Fernand Delaplace, born
                        23 Mar 1891, died 16 Aug 1932.
                        Both buried St. Dizier, France.
                        They had 7 children. Liliane, Robert, Maurice, Simonne,
                        Marie, Genevieve and Andre.

                  (D) RENE-MARIA ROTH: Born 10 Jul 1899, died 15 Oct
                        1899.
                        Buried St. Dizier, France.

                  (E) MARIA HELENE ROTH: Born 9 Jul 1907, died 11 Oct
                       1907.
                       Buried St. Dizier, France.

         (2) LEA CATHERINE ROTH: Born 5 Jul 1874, St. Dizier, France.,
              died 12 Dec 1906, Humboldt, Sask. On the 11 Dec 1895 in
              Neepawa, Man., she married Frederick Gorsalitz, born 31 May
              1864 Prussia, Germany, died 24 Apr 1946. (s/o John Jacob
              Gorsalitz and Wilhelmina Kaczor).
              Both buried Humboldt, Sask.
              They had 6 children. John, Charles, Philip, Frederick, Adeline
              and Minnie.

              Lea was given to a couple and she was supposedly taken to
              England, but Fred found her in an orphanage near Dauphin,
              Manitoba, Canada, and she had apparently been their since
              she was a young child. How and who put her in an orphanage
              is not known. Letters of inquiries to the Catholic Church Archives
              in Manitoba, have never been answered.

2. NICOLAS ROTH: Born 1833, Volksberg, Bas-Rhin, died 1883, St.
   Dizier, France. He married Dorothee Hasslauer.
   They had 2 children. Nicolas and Philippe.
