Chapter 2
Beings of Power.
The mythology in Valhalla is as complex as everything else in this world. There is no 'balance' between the gods of different alignments, as it is generally common, and although there are several lower planes of existence, it is extremely rarely that anyone are actually sent there. Because of this there is no real use for a relationship between gods and mortals, and there is no 'punishment' or 'salvation' after a more or less holy life. In this world the gods and the mortals are more equal, in the sense that a mortal can do what he wants without living in fear of the afterlife. On the other hand the people that do worship the gods do so with great devotion and spirit. As mentioned the gods of Asgaard were the first to arrive on the scene. They tend to be thought of as the superior gods, witch may or may not be true. Odin the Sky-father is the king and father of the gods in Asgaard. He rules with his wife Frigga, and their sons. Odin seldom leaves his throne room, he sits there listening to the complains and accusations of the 'dead'. Frigga the wise is the wife and queen of Odin. She seldom sits with her husband in the throne room, but she advises Odin when they are alone. She is widely respected in Asgaard, and a lot of the other gods ask her advise. Thor is the god of thunder, anger and battle. He is one of Odins sons, And can be found in the castle Valhalla, when not riding his wagon across the skies.
Tyr is the god of war, on a more strategic level than Thor. He is the god of planning and
conflict. He is also known as the One-armed due to the fact that his one arm is missing. The Rulers of the underworld, came after the gods of Asgaard. Odin might have stopped them, but he never tried, perhaps he didn't even notice them. Since then the beings of the lower planes have grown in strength, and number, they are perhaps starting to rival that of the gods of Valhalla. Asmodeus the Dark Lord, is one of the most powerful beings in the Underworld. He seems to have been destroyed at some point in times, possibly several times, but each time he has risen more powerful than before. Mornick, and Vasslius the Soul Lords, are in charge of the souls in the underworld. They don't have a lot to do, since few souls end up in the abyss. They hate Odin for making the arrangements, with the dead souls. Tiamat is perhaps the supreme being of evil in Valhalla. She is said to be the queen and mother of all dragons, that may or may not be true but she is certainly the largest by far. She is married to a huge silver dragon named Apsu. This has caused Scroogy some alarm, since dragons of silver are normally champions of good.
