The Nun with $50.00 One of the elderly parishioners died and left a modest sum to the convent, enough for Mother Superior to give each of the nuns $50 and tell them they could find their own charitable way of using the money. One by one the nuns found a charitable use, except for Sister Mary Catherine who, after a week, still had the $50. As she gazed out the window she noticed the disheveled, unshaven man standing on the street corner that she had often seen wandering in the area. Suddenly realizing her opportunity, she ran out to the man and said 'I'm Sister Mary Catherine and I want you to have this...' as she handed him the $50, and continued '...remember my prayers are with you, and Godspeed!' With a mumbled 'OK', the man disappeared. The very next day Mother Superior answered a knock at the convent door to find the very same man standing there asking for Sister Mary Catherine. 'I'm very sorry', Mother Superior said, 'she is in chapel now and I can't disturb her. Can I take a message?' 'Yeah' answered the man as he reached in his pocket, pulled out a huge wad of money, and counted out a stack of $20's. 'Give this to her and tell her that Godspeed came in at 15 to 1.'
