They're a local rockish band, described as "Pretty Good" and a unique blend of rock, light punk, heavy metal, hardcore and surf music... Claimed to resemble Sponge Bob Square Pants!! (?!?!?! lol.) They're from Temperance, Michigan, consisting of five talented freshmen. This band was started by Caitlin Beland, the drummer. This band began in March, they've been rocking since then, and haven't stopped. XXAVE sounds like a mixture of Weezer, The Offspring, System of a Down, etc. We've had experienced figures sit in on our meetings, they were to say the least, were satisfied. They're major idols are Sum 41, Weezer, Blink 182, No Doubt, etc. They are working precisely and quickly, getting ready for upcoming shows. They're also doing a grand job of promoting themselves. They are in association with many other well known punk bands across the states of Michigan and Ohio, and perhaps beyond that. They meet regularly at Caitlin's house, Sarah writes most of the prized lyrics, and Caitlin writes most of the music. Caitlin kinda sings it (for now), Sarah strums it on her Fender, Cara slams it on her bass, Brian jams on his B.C. Rich, and Caitlin pounds it on the drumset.
They believe the key to success is determination, and wish the best of luck to any other local bands who have yet to break through the state of oblivion. They're first album will be called 'Communism for you 2002' As well as getting along well, the band also shares many inside jokes... Everything from the long distance relationship between their mixer and Rich's distortion to the stink bug and the 'nother one bites the dust.
Their list of names they were going to call their band was also quite interesting, I do believe. This band is well on their way, no doubt about it. They got the power, they've got the talent. They'll surely reach their goals, and they support ALL other local michigan/ohio bands. |
