Why more about Christopher?
Haven't I said enough?
NO !!
Because there's something that is bothering me always and I hope (dream on girl !) that one day anyone will notice and do something about it (yes, I am talking to you directors out there!).
Chris is often typecast as the villain,
the not to be trusted weirdo with strange habits and psycho. Don't misunderstand
me, Christopher is really good in that kind of roles and I enjoy it every
time I see them, but I have been missing roles like Communion for a long
time.
Other than that I think he's capable
of doing funny movies, the ones in which he has to keep a straight face.
Some parts are worth doing over.
Like Chris was in Batman Returns as Max Shreck, before the Batman movies
were a real hype. Though I prefer Tim Burton over Joel Schumacher for the
Batman movies, I think Chris is not used to the full in that one. Therefore
I think he should be given a retry in any next Batman movie as Ra's Al
Guhl. Okay, I know, another typecast, but a great one. As with Max Shreck
it wasn't so dark as it could have been.
As for Communion, there are two
sequels (books) to Communion; Transformation and Breakthrough. I am still
hoping Whitley Strieber feels like doing a sequel on the silver screen
and take Chris again ... because he was so great and natural in that one.
He outplayed everyone that's for sure, though the casting was very strong!
But as most people feel Chris is
doing villains all the time, there are still many movies in which he is
something other than that. Besides, playing Gabriel in the Prophecy can't
be compared to playing Ray Tempio in The Funeral.
Here are some movies in which he
isn't a villain at all:
The Deerhunter, Who am I this time?,
Brainstorm, The Dead Zone, The Milagro Beanfield War, Communion, McBain,
Sarah Plain and Tall, All American Murder, Skylark, A business affair,
Basquiat, Puss in Boots, the Sentinel and Roseland.
But on a scale of movies Chris
makes, it's a minority and regretfully a fact Chris's talents are still
not recognized on all fronts. Pity.
But who knows? It sure gives me
something to hope for.

And remember: it's always good to be back home.
