An amazing opening song for The Bends this was released as a double a-side along with High & Dry. The song was written very spontaneously, apparently Thom had a loop of Phil's drumming and some arrangements and was left in Rak one night in London by himself while the rest of the band went to party. The lyrics we hear on Telex are just mumblings from a bored and tired Thom laying under a table singing to himself.
