The Trickster

Lost in the mountains
Rust in my brain
The air is sacred here
In spite of your claim

Up on the rooftops
Out of reach
Trickster is meaningless
Trickster is weak

He's talking out the world
Talking out the world
Hey, hey, hey, this is only halfway
Hey, hey, hey, this is only halfway

I wanted you so bad
That I couldn't say
All these things fall apart

We wanted out so bad
That we couldn't say
These things fall apart

We're talking out the world
Talking out the world
Hey, hey, hey, this is only halfway
Hey, hey, hey, this is only halfway

Truent kids
A can of brick dust worms
Who do not want to climb down from
Their chestnut tree

Long white gloves
Police check carefully
Escaped from the zoo
The perfect child facsimile is

Talking out the world
Talking out the world
Hey, hey, hey
Hey, hey, hey

There is an earlier version of this song, with different lyrics. This is available to view here.

From Spin: "Today we are presenting you kids with a rather rare Radiohead song off their My Iron Lung Import EP. Now, while every single Radiohead freak, like ourselves, find this to be a monumental and incredibly important album to own, many others don't. This is why we are presenting the song "The Trickster." It's one of the best songs, ever. Hands down. And it's only the second song off this EP (which also includes an INCREDIBLE, BRILLIANT, LIFE-ALTERING acoustic version of the eternally beautiful "Creep." So while we've all have played OK Computer, The Bends, and Pablo Honey, to death in anticipation of the new album, and adopted other bands as the next Radiohead to get us through to next spring when the band promises to release their new album, we'll listen to the My Iron Lung EP over and over again. It's an oldy, but it's rare, and this makes it worthy of being a Musicbyte. So listen to thirty seconds of this song and try your hardest to visualize lead singer Thom Yorke singing this. Most of all, try to visualize his sexy eye."
