[The camera pans across the crowd, who are all on their feet and going nuts. The aisle is filled with a seemingly endless supply of ladders and stacks upon stacks of tables.]
Terry Hogan – Can you believe these Dutchmen, Charlie? They’re on their feet and in our face!
Charlie Watkins – Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the SWL’s finest PPV extravaganza to date. I’m Charlie Watkins and with me as always is Terry Hogan. And Terry, we are about to witness an explosion. Everyone on the roster will be in one match and all three titles will be on the line! There are implements of destruction all around the ring: tables, ladders, and weapons galore.
Terry Hogan – You can bet that not too many people will be leaving this ring with all their faculties about them.
Charlie Watkins - Everyone will be leaving it all out on the mat here tonight. This includes anyone of SWL's past or present. Williams wants to go out with a bang, and I see no reason why we shouldn't see every one of the past SWL Superstars back here tonight.
Terry Hogan - Of course, they have to come back on their own free will. Should be interesting as to who we see back, if anyone.
Charlie Watkins - But we will keep you posted with frequent backstage interviews and such. We have to go out with a....
[The black screen flickers to light as the camera focuses on an arrow spinning in front of wheel.]
Charlie Watkins - What's this?
[The wheel has segments of different colors with numbers in each segment. The camera pulls back and slowly ... rather deliberately to show the torso of a woman in a sequined shinny dress. The camera moves further back to reveal Ebony posing by the side of the wheel. She also wears a matching pair of sequined arm gloves and a choker. Her hair is pulled back and she smiles into the camera. As the camera pulls further back, 'Luscious' Lawrence Rhodes comes into the shot. Rhodes is clad in a black tuxedo, white shirt, black bow tie and patent shoes. Rhodes also smiles ruefully into the camera.]
Rhodes - Let me welcome all you High Rollers to the Amsterdam Arena ... here in the beautiful Netherlands. The Luscious One is back home in Europe and ready to give any SWL wanabee superstar a shot here tonight.
[Rhodes issues another cheesey grin into the camera as Ebony gives the wheel another spin.]
Rhodes - Roll up ... roll up ... come spin the wheel and get the opportunity to face 'Luscious' Lawrence Rhodes tonight. The wheel decides the match ... a ladder match, a submission match ... an ironman match. [Another cheesey grin] Spin the wheel and see what you deal.
[At that moment the camera moves back and John Steele walks past the set. Ebony continues to pose as Rhodes puts his arm up to stop Steele walking past.]
Rhodes - John Steele ... the liberator ... do you want to spin the wheel. Do you John think you could defeat the Luscious One here tonight?
[John Steele just looks at Lawrence Rhodes. He begins to shake his head and lets out a little chuckle. Steele then pats the Spotlight belt that he is carrying and walks off. Rhodes just stands staring after him.]
Terry Hogan - What is that all about?
Charlie Watkins – I have
no idea. I know Rhodes brought out a wheel before a long time ago, but I
don't know if anything came of it. But before we get to the match, we have a special treat for all the fans out there. It can only be described by saying that this interview is entitled: "Memories of the SWL". Enjoy!
(Tarik Rakishi can be seen over the shoulder of a man. The room is dimly lit except for spotlight on both Rakishi and the man who's back is too us.]
Man - What can i say about SWL. I began my career here. I grew as a person here and had the pleasure of facing some of the best wrestlers in the world.
(The camera pans from Tarik's face to the familiar face of one time Quasar and one time World Champion, Johnny Spades.]
Johnny Spades - Guys like Vindicator, Rhodes, Billy Rock. Damn the list just goes on and on. This place will be missed. Even when I first heard the rumor I felt a little empty in my heart and now that I know for sure it's closing the emptiness I feel can't be explained. SWL will always have a special place in my heart. Everywhere I go, the SWL will always be there with me. Being able to hold the Quasar title and more importantly the SWL World Heavyweight title is an honor that will always live in my heart. Knowing all these guys in the back and working with them is something else I won't forget about either. Brian Williams never got much credit but I say thank you for giving me the opportunity to compete in your great federation and if it wasn't for you sticking with us through thick and thin some of us would have never molded into the men we are today. SWL, I'm gonna miss you. And to all the fans, I thank you for giving me some of the greatest memories ever in my life.
Terry Hogan - Oh man, do I miss Johnny Spades. It's a shame he couldn't be here tonight. That would have been great to see him battle for what he held so dear to him in the SWL World Title.
Charlie Watkins - I agree. It just hasn't been the same without him or Rock around. But I think it's time to get this last show going. Is everyone ready to Rock And Roll All Night?
Anna Dea – Ladies and gentlemen, the following contest is a ladder match in which all three singles titles will be on the line.
[POP]
Anna Dea – Here are the rules: The belts are currently suspended in the rafters. Earlier in the day, the participants in this match drew random numbers. The first two numbers will start the match and afterwards, every two minutes, the next competitor will enter the ring. After all fifteen participants have entered, the belts will be lowered to a height of twenty feet above the canvas at various points in the ring. At that time, standard Ladder Match rules apply. Anyone in the ring can retrieve any belt at any time. After a championship belt is retrieved, that person becomes the new champion and the belt is no longer fair game. This match will end when all three belts have been retrieved.
Charlie Watkins – The luck of the draw is so important in this match.
Terry Hogan – Absolutely. Whoever comes in first has a half an hour of combat to endure until he can attempt to get one of the belts.
Anna Dea – And now…introducing the man who drew number one…
Terry Hogan – Who’s it going to be?
Anna Dea - …from Eerie, Indiana, weighing in at 234 pounds, the Ghost From Nowhere!
[Soundgarden’s "Black Hole Sun" plays as the Ghost makes his way to the ring.]
Anna Dea – Number two… weighing in at 128 kilograms, Not Applicable!
[Bawitdaba by Kid Rock begins to play through out the arena and the fans immediately begin to boo harshly. After about 5 seconds of music Not Applicable comes out of the entrance area and heads to the ring area. He looks neither left nor right but straight ahead. He is wearing a pair of ripped up jeans, a black shirt that fails to hide his well muscled upper body. On his face is a simple black mask that conceals his true identity. When he rolls into the ring, he immediately goes after the Ghost and the bell rings.]
Charlie Watkins – Here we go, we’re underway.
Terry Hogan – I can’t wait to see what happens in this match.
[N/A backs Ghost into the corner with right hands. He whips Ghost into the ropes and catches him with a reverse elbow. He sets Ghost up again but Ghost reverses the Irish whip and gives N/A a back bodydrop. Ghost slides to the outside and grabs a steel chair.]
Charlie Watkins – The Ghost bringing a weapon into the ring.
Terry Hogan – That didn’t take long.
[Ghost takes a swing at N/A, but N/A ducks. The crowd counts down as the clock appears on the Jumbotron…3…2…1]
Terry Hogan – Who’s next?
[Wonderful slides underneath the bottom rope as N/A kicks Ghost in the midsection and takes his chair. He winds up to swing at Ghost, but Wonderful grabs the chair from behind and wrenches it free from N/A. N/A quickly turns around and ducks a swing from Wonderful. He kicks Wonderful in the midsection…APPLICATION!!! The crowd goes wild.]
Terry Hogan – Listen to these people. They’re loving it.
Charlie Watkins – Not Applicable certainly has his fans in Europe, just like in America.
[N/A turns around and Ghost stuns him with a savate kick. Ghost positions N/A and DDT’s him on the chair. The clock appears again and begins to count down…3…2…1]
Charlie Watkins – Number four is…
["Guerilla Warfare" by Rage against the machine plays as MOB Squad appears in the entranceway.]
Terry Hogan – Uh-oh
Charlie Watkins – Here is a man who can do some damage. It’s MOB Squad.
[MOB Squad grabs one of the tables around ringside and sets it up next to the ring apron. He slides into the ring and grabs the prone Johnny Wonderful. He steps out to the apron and signals to the crowd. He lifts Wonderful into a stalling suplex.]
Charlie Watkins – No! Not the Screwdriver through the table!
[The Ghost From Nowhere attacks MOB and MOB drops Wonderful. N/A props the table up against the security railing and he and Ghost wear down MOB Squad. N/A positions him halfway sitting on the table as Ghost climbs to the apron.]
Terry Hogan – Wait a minute. N/A and the Ghost were at each other’s throats a minute ago. Now they’re working together.
Charlie Watkins – MOB Squad is a big threat. No one man is going to be able to handle him in this environment. They need to cooperate to take him out of the match.
Terry Hogan – Yeah, well this may do it. Watch the Ghost!
[Ghost sprints across the apron and flies off with a cannonball that connects and drives MOB Squad through the table. The crowd explodes and almost doesn’t notice the clock counting down…3…2…1]
Charlie Watkins – What an incredible move by the Ghost, who’s a little worse for wear as he slowly gets up. Now it’s number five…
[No music plays and the crowd stares at the entrance in anticipation. N/A stands in the ring, waiting. Suddenly, a figure jumps over the security railing and slides in under the bottom rope behind N/A.]
Charlie Watkins – It’s Diesel!
[The black screen again flickers into life as the camera focuses on Lawrence Rhodes' spinning wheel. The camera again pulls back slowly showing Ebony posing in her sequined shinny dress. The camera then moves back again showing 'Luscious' Lawrence Rhodes. Rhodes again stands grinning into the camera. He looks a bit hotter and more flustered.]
Rhodes - So John Steele hasn't got the balls to spin the wheel. You know John, this is a one shot wonder. I gave you the opportunity but you [Rhodes issues another cheesy grin] spat into the face of opportunity. Steele ... to quote one of my favourite wrestlers ... I could make you famous.
[As Rhodes finishes 'The Showstopper' Jett Jones is shown striding past. Jones is focused and doesn't seem to see either Ebony or Rhodes. Again Rhodes puts out an arm and stops Jones in his tracks. Jones looks up and scowls.]
Jett Jones - What the hell do you want??
Rhodes - Hold on big fella ... ease up on those reigns. [Another cheesy grin] Why don't you [Rhodes points at Jones] the showstopper, step up and spin the wheel. Get the opportunity to face the 'Luscious One' here tonight. [Another cheesy grin] Give the European public the match what they want.
Jones - [Taping the Quasar belt that he is carrying] I don't think so Rhodes ... [Jones shakes his head] I just don't think so ... [Laughs and then exits the shot as Rhodes is left standing.]
Terry Hogan – Behind you, N/A!
[Diesel grabs the chair on the mat and lays out N/A with an awesome shot. Johnny Wonderful crawls back into the ring and is attacked by Diesel.]
Charlie Watkins - It appears that Rhodes really wants to use that wheel of his.
[Diesel whips him into the ropes and picks up the chair. He charges and strikes at Wonderful’s legs with it, dropping him to the mat. He shoots himself into the ropes, only to be tripped up and pulled out of the ring by MOB Squad. MOB Squad Irish whips him into the steel steps.]
Charlie Watkins – MOB Squad is certainly the dominant force in the ring right now.
[The clock begins to count down again…3…2…1]
Charlie Watkins – Here comes number six.
[A drumbeat sounds as Tank makes his way to the ring in a slow march.]
Terry Hogan – It’s Tank!
Charlie Watkins – Both members of the Squad are here tonight. It’s a huge opportunity.
[Tank is cut off by the Ghost From Nowhere, who slams him into the steel steps before retrieving one of the ladders.]
Terry Hogan – Hey! The belts haven’t come down yet!
Charlie Watkins – Wouldn’t matter if they did. That’s a ten-footer, not one of the twenty-foot painter’s ladders they’d need to get to the belts. I think Ghost just wants to do some damage.
[Ghost hits Tank in the midsection with the ladder and heaves it into his face. In the ring, N/A chokes MOB Squad with his boot in the corner. On the other side of the ring, Johnny Wonderful stomps the prone Diesel.]
Charlie Watkins – So much action going on all at once; it’s tough to call it all.
[Ghost props the ladder up on the ring apron and trips Tank by both legs. He hooks Tank and catapults him face first into the ladder, making a sickening cracking sound. Tank is busted open and the clock counts down again…3…2…1]
Terry Hogan – Who’s up next?
["Ride of the Valkyries" plays and the crowd comes alive. Justin Arcola appears at the entranceway with a trash can in hand, wearing a cheesy, hammed-up "I love Holland" T-Shirt.]
Charlie Watkins – It’s Justin Arcola! And he looks happy to be here.
Terry Hogan – What a worthless suck-up. And why is he bringing a weapon down here? He’s a wrestler, not a brawler.
[Arcola goes right for the Ghost, catching him with a shot to the head with the trash can. He circles the ring and swings it at Diesel, stunning him. He tosses the can to Johnny Wonderful and grabs the chair from the ring. Wonderful slides the can over top of Diesel’s head. Diesel stagger around a bit and Arcola winds up and decks him with the chair, knocking the trash can clean off and leveling him to the ground. Arcola holds the chair up and the crowd goes wild.]
Charlie Watkins – If nothing else, the former tag champ has the crowd on his side.
Terry Hogan – Big deal. Wait for twenty minutes or so. The crowd will mean nothing if he can’t stand up.
[Tank rolls the prone Ghost into the ring and slides the ladder in after him. MOB Squad bodyslams N/A and attacks Tank. MOB Squad ties Tank into the ropes and grabs the ladder. MOB Squad rears back, charges, and smashes the ladder into Tank’s face, knocking him through the ropes to the floor. Tank lays prone and bleeding and does not move.]
Terry Hogan – Forget it. Tank is out of this match.
Charlie Watkins – I think we need some help out here for him. I’m serious, folks. But let's take a break from the action to see what trouble Lawrence Rhodes is causing now.
[The black screen again flickers into life as the camera focuses on the spinning wheel. The camera pulls back slowly showing Ebony ... now looking rather pissed off, posing in her sequined shinny dress. The camera then moves further back showing 'Luscious' Lawrence Rhodes. Rhodes again stands grinning into the camera ... now even hotter and even more flustered.]
Rhodes - So Jett Jones and John Steele both refuse to get in the ring with the Luscious One tonight. [Rhodes shrugs his shoulders woefully] You both refuse to give the paying European public the match that they want.
[The camera focuses on Ebony who still poses by the spinning wheel.]
Rhodes - So there isn't a wrestler here tonight willing to step up and spin the wheel and face the Luscious One. The opportunity I am giving you ... thrust back at my face.
[At that moment the camera pans round to show the SWL President Brian Williams standing watching Rhodes performance. Williams also wears a woeful expression as he to shakes his head.]
Rhodes - [Spotting Williams] So what about you Mr. President? Maybe you wanna step up 'ere and spin this wheel. Maybe you're the only man that can match daddy big b%!!%#s in that department. Maybe you wanna put on the match for my fans here tonight.
[Brian Williams then steps forward. He stares right into Rhodes face as Ebony continues to pose.]
Brian Williams - Rhodes ... what are you trying to do here??? Spin the wheel here ... spin the wheel there. You can take that wheel and spin it where the sun don't shine. Because people just aren't interested. Your nothing Rhodes ... absolutely nothing, so that's why you are going to get a match. I run this place, and what I say goes. This match that we have going on now is what counts.
[The camera shows a rather shocked look on Rhodes face. Again he shrugs his shoulders and takes a rather large gulp of air.]
Brian Williams - You aren't the Heavyweight Champ ... so what you have to offer. NOTHING! You've got nothing to offer Rhodes .. so why don't you just pack that wheel back into its box.
[Rhodes looks rather forlorn as Brian Williams turns and leaves the shot. Ebony grins as the shot fades.]
Charlie Watkins - I just don't understand why this whole thing is so important to Rhodes. It's not like he needs to prove himself one last time. And even if it is, why can't he do it here in this match?
[Arcola attacks MOB Squad and whips him into the ropes. Arcola powerslams MOB Squad and comes off the ropes with an elbow. Johnny Wonderful and Ghost jockey for position and Ghost gets the upper hand, backing Wonderful into the corner. N/A walks to the aisle and grabs another table. The crowd begins to stir. The clock counts down…3…2…1]
Charlie Watkins – Not another table! Come on!
Terry Hogan – Who’s number eight?
[The Prodigy remix of "Release yo ‘delf" plays as Lawrence Rhodes appears at the entranceway.]
Terry Hogan – Look who we have here. The wheel spinner!
Charlie Watkins – It’s the former World Champion…and he is not in a good mood.
Terry Hogan - Probably because Brian Williams nixed his idea of a match.
[Rhodes runs and attacks N/A. Rhodes DDT’s N/A on the concrete and repositions the table that N/A set up. He grabs another table and stacks it on top of the first one.]
Charlie Watkins – What is Rhodes going to do here?
Terry Hogan – I don’t know, but usually, nothing good can come when those tables come into play.
[Rhodes takes N/A up the steps onto the apron and drapes him over his shoulder.]
Charlie Watkins – Oh no…
Terry Hogan – He won’t do it. Come on.
[Rhodes sprints down the apron and leaps off, driving N/A through two tables with the running powerslam. The crowd goes nuts, chanting "Holy sh*t! Holy sh*t!]
Charlie Watkins – ONE FOR THE LADIES! ONE FOR THE LADIES THROUGH TWO TABLES!!!
Terry Hogan – I don’t believe what I’m seeing!
Charlie Watkins – Kiss N/A goodbye for the night. He’s done.
Terry Hogan – And everyone else in the ring better watch themselves. The Luscious One is pissed off.
[Rhodes gets up slowly and steps over the wreckage into the ring. There, we find MOB Squad beating down Arcola in the corner and Ghost with the figure four-leg lock on Wonderful. Rhodes scans the ring.]
Terry Hogan – By my count, Tank and Not Applicable are history and Diesel is well on his way.
[Rhodes finds the chair in the far corner and approaches MOB Squad from behind. MOB Squad doesn’t see the shot coming and is leveled by the chair, which shatters from the impact. The clock counts down again…3…2…1]
Charlie Watkins – Number nine…
Terry Hogan (evilly) "Paul is dead…Paul is dead."
Charlie Watkins – What?
Terry Hogan – Before your time.
[The techno version of "Phantom of the Opera" plays as Kevin Steele makes his way to the ring.]
Charlie Watkins – Kevin Steele. Let’s see what he can do.
Terry Hogan – I doubt he can do much.
[Steele circles the ring and goes after Diesel as, in the ring, Rhodes dumps Wonderful out over the ropes with a clothesline. Ghost and Arcola then double-team Rhodes, giving him a double suplex. Steele throws Diesel into the ring.]
Terry Hogan – Actually, Kevin Steele might be the smart wrestler right now. He’s focusing on the guys who are already hurt and leaving the fresher ones to beat each other up.
Charlie Watkins – Are you impressed?
Terry Hogan – Not nearly as much as I am that Johnny Wonderful is still in the match.
[Arcola places the ladder on the mat in position and Ghost whips Rhodes into the ropes. Ghost drop toe-holds Rhodes, smashing his face into the ladder. Arcola places Rhodes’ body onto the ladder and Ghost runs into the ropes again. Arcola lifts Ghost up and goes to toss him onto Rhodes. Rhodes moves out of the way and Ghost lands on the ladder from seven feet up. Arcola simply shrugs.]
Terry Hogan – This match is utter chaos. I love it!
[MOB Squad and Kevin Steele double team Diesel. MOB Squad gives him the Michinoku Driver and Kevin Steele comes off the top rope with a flying headbutt as the clock winds down again…3…2…1]
Charlie Watkins – Hand of Justice.
Terry Hogan – Number ten…who’s it going to be?
["When Worlds Collide" by Powerman 5000 plays as Janus makes his way to the ring.]
Charlie Watkins – It’s Janus!
Terry Hogan – The champion himself is here. Wait until Rhodes sees him.
[Janus slides into the ring and stomps the prone Rhodes as Arcola works on the Ghost. The ladder is pushed out of the ring to the floor.]
Charlie Watkins – He may not have to wait very long.
[MOB Squad sends Steele out of the ring. Steele gets a table from the aisle and sets it up next to the apron. He gets the timekeeper’s chair and places it underneath the table.]
Charlie Watkins – What is Dark Justice going to do?
[MOB Squad takes Diesel out to the apron and hooks him into a front facelock. Steele gets up on the apron and stands ready. MOB Squad lifts Diesel into a stalling suplex.]
Terry Hogan – No!
[MOB Squad jumps off the apron and brings Diesel down with the screwdriver. At the same time, Steele leaps backwards off the apron past the table and pushes Diesel’s legs down. Diesel is driven head-first through the table and onto the chair underneath it. The crowd explodes again as Diesel crumples to the floor.]
Charlie Watkins – Oh my God! A spike Screwdriver through a table and onto a chair!
Terry Hogan – Get some help out here! Diesel’s neck has to be broken!
Charlie Watkins – Seriously, people. A man’s life is in danger right now. Get off your butts and get out here.
[The clock counts down…3…2…1]
Charlie Watkins – Who’s up now?
["Hells Bells" by AC/DC plays as Jett Jones makes his way to the ring.]
Charlie Watkins – Number eleven is the new Quasar champion, "The Showstopper" Jett Jones.
Terry Hogan – He’s a big man and he’s got a late draw.
[Jones slides into the ring and is attacked by Janus. Janus whips him into the ropes and military presses him.]
Charlie Watkins – Look at the power! Jones is almost 300 pounds.
[Out of nowhere, Rhodes chop blocks Janus, knocking Jones free of his grasp. Rhodes mounts Janus and hits him with several vicious punches. Jones goes after Arcola, who has dumped Ghost out of the ring. He whips Arcola into the ropes and knocks him down with a clothesline. Johnny Wonderful gets into the ring and is met by Dark Justice.]
Terry Hogan – You know what? I’ve got to give Dark Justice credit. If they work together, they could eliminate everyone else and have the title belts for themselves.
Charlie Watkins - What's this? We are going backstage again, Terry.
Terry Hogan - Who do we have left back there?
[A clip of Brian Williams is shown. Williams is sitting in his office talking on the phone?]
"You'll be here?" Williams looks at his watch. "When?"
(pause)
"Okay, I'll see if I can find him and let him know you're on your way. He's really been driving everyone crazy with that damn wheel!"
(pause)
"Yeah, I'm sure it's okay. I did say anyone and everyone was invited."
Williams hangs up the phone and makes his way out of the office.
Terry Hogan - Who was he talking to?
Charlie Watkins - Your guess is as good as mine.
Terry Hogan - My guess is it's a big movie star or football player. Maybe Williams has dipped his hand into creating a new football league?
Charlie Watkins - It's already been done, I doubt Brian would try to copy someone else.
[Justin Arcola comes up from behind Janus and hits him with a reverse DDT drop. Outside the ring, the Ghost is setting up a table near the apron. He places a second one next to it and stacks a third one on top.]
Charlie Watkins – That looks extremely dangerous.
Terry Hogan – Considering everything the Ghost has been through tonight, you’d think he’d just lay low and wait for the belts to come down.
[The clock winds down again…3…2…1… "Open Your Eyes" by Guano Apes plays and John Steele makes his way to the ring. He stops in the entranceway and grabs one of the ten foot ladders, taking it into the ring with him.]
Charlie Watkins – Oh no.
Terry Hogan – Oh no is right. There’s a lot of people in that ring.
[John Steele smashes the Ghost with the ladder, knocking him into the corner sitting down. Steele places the ladder between Ghost’s legs and backs up. He baseball slides into the ladder, knocking it right into Ghost’s crotch. Every man in the audience lets out a collective cringe.]
Terry Hogan – Let me tell you what: if Ghost wins any titles tonight, he really deserves them.
[Dark Justice continues to abuse Johnny Wonderful. MOB Squad sets up a table on the outside of the ring. He climbs to the apron and goes to powerbomb Wonderful through it. Suddenly, Arcola appears and hits MOB Squad from behind. MOB Squad teeters, but does not fall. Arcola jumps through the ropes and grabs the trash can from before. He tosses it to Wonderful, who hits Kevin Steele over the head with it. Arcola jumps to the apron and double-underhooks MOB Squad. He jumps backwards off the apron and drives MOB Squad through the table.]
Charlie Watkins – ARCOLA DRIVER! Arcola Driver through the table!
Terry Hogan – I think we can safely say that MOB Squad is history. I don’t care how tough you are; if you’re 300 pounds and you get driven head-first through a table, you’ll be drinking soup for the next week.
[In the ring, Rhodes hits a stunt-pull piledriver on Janus. John Steele is paired off with Jett Jones, and the Ghost rests in the corner, still reeling from the ladder shot. The clock winds down again…3…2…1]
Charlie Watkins – Number thirteen.
[A drumbeat sounds as Star makes his way to the ring. He surveys the action inside and out of the ring, looks around at the crowd, and then turns around and leaves.]
Terry Hogan – Is Star chickening out?
Charlie Watkins – He probably saw what happened to his partner Tank and had second thoughts.
Terry Hogan – That could be the smartest decision he’s ever made.
[Arcola and Wonderful team up on Kevin Steele outside the ring. They prop up a ladder balanced horizontally on the ring apron and the security railing. Arcola bodyslams Steele on the ladder and hold him in place while Wonderful climbs to the apron. Wonderful leaps off and drives an elbow into Steele. In the ring, Jett Jones delivers a belly-to-belly suplex to John Steele. Janus chokes Rhodes down in the corner. The clock counts down again…3…2…1]
Charlie Watkins – This will be the second to last entrant in the match.
["Morphine" by Michael Jackson plays as "Big D" Devastation makes his way to the ring.]
Terry Hogan – Now here’s a man who can do some damage. But can he climb any ladders? That’s the question.
[Big D glances at the stack of tables in the entranceway and slides in under the bottom rope. He singles out the Ghost From Nowhere and pins him in the corner, boxing his ears until he slumps down again. Big D backs up and charges at Ghost, squashing him with a body avalanche. The camera pans to a wider angle to see a dazed Janus being nailed by a wicked lariat from Rhodes that turns him for a loop.]
Charlie Watkins – Those two have been battling each other this entire match.
Terry Hogan – Rightfully so. Rhodes feels Janus stole his Heavyweight Title.
[Jett Jones sets up John Steele for a powerbomb. Arcola enters the ring and hits Jones from behind. Arcola and John Steele give Jones a tandem neckbreaker. The clock begins to wind down again.]
Charlie Watkins – This is it. The last entrant.
Terry Hogan – And the belts will be lowered as soon as he’s announced.
[3…2…1… "Welcome to the Jungle" plays as Ty Shun Ho makes his way to the ring. The belts begin to lower from the rafters. The Spotlight and Quasar belts are close to the corners of the ring and the Heavyweight belt is directly in the center. Ty Shun Ho grabs one of the 20-foot ladders and makes his way into the ring.]
Charlie Watkins – The Dragon not wasting any time. He’s got the best draw of all.
Terry Hogan – And he could theoretically leave here with a belt and not get hurt if he hurries.
[Ho sets up the huge ladder in the corner of the ring, under the Spotlight Belt and begins to climb.]
Charlie Watkins – It looks like he’s going to go after the least coveted belt of the three.
Terry Hogan – Not bad strategy. There’s less focus on that one and it may be easier to get a hold of.
[Big D sees the Dragon and begins to climb the other side of the ladder. They meet at the top and Big D gets the better of the exchange, driving Ho down the ladder but not knocking him off. Ho jumps to the mat and Big D reaches for the belt. Ho points to the two-level stack of tables on the outside of the ring and the crowd comes to their feet.]
Terry Hogan – No! Don’t do it!
[Ty Shun Ho tips the ladder over and Big D’s face is a look of sheer terror as he plummets over the ropes and falls through the stack of three tables. The crowd goes wild and Big D lays motionless.]
Charlie Watkins – MY GOD! MY GOD! The 400-pound Big D just fell 25 feet to the floor and went through three tables!
Terry Hogan – Ty Shun Ho! What is wrong with you? You could have killed him!
Charlie Watkins – Big D is out of this match, you’ve got to believe.
Terry Hogan – Of course he’s out of here! His career might be over after that fall. Who’s still alive here?
Charlie Watkins – We’ve got the Dragon, Arcola, Janus, Rhodes, Jones, and John Steele in the ring, Johnny Wonderful and Kevin Steele outside the ring…
Terry Hogan – And the Ghost From Nowhere is physically here, but the rest of him might not be. He’s beaten so badly that no one wants to do any more damage to him. They’re just kind of leaving him alone.
[Ty Shun Ho sets up the ladder again. John Steele grabs the ten-foot ladder from outside the ring and sets it up next to the painter’s ladder. They both begin to climb.]
Terry Hogan – What’s John Steele thinking? He can’t reach the belt from that ladder.
Charlie Watkins – I don’t know. We’ll have to wait and see.
[Janus goes outside and gets a steel chair. Rhodes follows him out and spins him around, only to get hit with the chair in the gut. Janus measures Rhodes and smashes the top end of the chair right into Rhodes’ face. Rhodes is busted open. In the ring, John Steele and Ty Shun Ho trade shots and John Steel slips down a couple of steps on his ladder. However, as Ho is reaching for the Spotlight Belt, Steele tips Ho’s ladder over and Ho falls off it, straddling himself on the top rope. Steele reaches over and steadies the painter’s ladder, steps to it from his ladder, climbs the rest of the distance and unhooks the belt before falling to the canvas.]
Anna Dea – The winner and still SWL Spotlight Champion, John Steele!
Charlie Watkins – What a brilliant maneuver!
Terry Hogan – I’ve gotta hand it to him, that was very smart. That smaller ladder did prove useful after all.
[John Steele kisses the belt and leaves ringside, walking to the back.]
Charlie Watkins – Is he taking off?
Terry Hogan – I think he’d had about as much punishment as he could stand. He got his belt back, so I guess that’s enough for him.
[The Ghost From Nowhere crawls over to Ty Shun Ho and picks him up. He positions the ten-foot ladder on the mat and hooks the head and leg of the Dragon. Ghost delivers the Cradle DDT onto the ladder, making a sickening crack.]
Terry Hogan – Did you hear that?
Charlie Watkins – You’re damn right I did. Only in the SWL will you see action like this.
[Kevin Steele slams Jett Jones and picks up the ladder that is on the floor. He props it in the corner and climbs to the top rope. He holds onto the ladder and pushes himself forward, driving his own weight plus the ladder onto Jones’ body. On the other side of the ring, Johnny Wonderful hangs Justin Arcola up on the top rope. Wonderful slides back into the ring, only to be cut off by Janus, who kicks him in the midsection and gives him the reverse brainbuster.]
Charlie Watkins – There’s The End.
Terry Hogan – That should keep that little punk down for a while.
Charlie Watkins – There’s eight people still left in the match and two titles still at stake.
[Kevin Steele dumps the ten-foot ladder out of the ring and grabs the painter’s ladder. He sets it up in the corner and begins to climb it.]
Terry Hogan – And it looks like Kevin Steele is going to go for the Quasar Belt.
Charlie Watkins – He’s right underneath it.
[When Steele is about halfway up, Justin Arcola comes over and grabs him by the legs, stopping him. He turns himself around and yanks Steele off the ladder, powerbombing him. Arcola begins to climb the ladder. Johnny Wonderful comes over and climbs up the other side. They meet at the top and trade shots. Arcola rams Wonderful’s face into the top of the ladder and Wonderful plummets off, hitting his face on the ringpost before landing very terribly on the floor. Arcola quickly snatches the Quasar Belt and jumps down to the mat.]
Anna Dea – The winner of the decision and NEW SWL Quasar Champion, Justin Arcola!!!
Charlie Watkins – Justin Arcola has won his first singles title in the SWL. Can you believe this action?
Terry Hogan – What I can’t believe is Johnny Wonderful’s fall there. He looks in a bad way. I…I almost feel badly about this.
Charlie Watkins – He is in bad shape. The ER here in Amsterdam is going to be working overtime tonight. Get well soon, Johnny.
[Arcola hands the Quasar Title to the timekeeper and slides back into the ring.]
Terry Hogan – Look at Arcola. He wants more.
Charlie Watkins – He’s stayed relatively injury-free so far. He might have what it takes to leave here a double champion.
[Lawrence Rhodes picks up Ty Shun Ho and gives him a T-Bone Suplex. He grabs the painter’s ladder and sets it up in the middle of the ring, but is prevented from climbing it by Janus, who unloads on him with right hands. Arcola grabs a ten-foot ladder and places it on the ground. He whips Jett Jones into the ropes and flapjacks him onto the ladder. Arcola holds Jones in place on the ladder while Ty Shun Ho climbs to the top rope and flies off with a corkscrew moonsault. Outside the ring, Kevin Steele sets up a table.]
Charlie Watkins – Oh no. Not another table.
[Kevin Steele reenters the ring and drags the Ghost to the ropes. He stands on the apron with the Ghost with is back to the table. He hooks Ghost in a front facelock and lifts him up high, falling backwards with a brainbuster through the table. The crowd comes alive again.]
Charlie Watkins – Brainbuster through the table! The Ghost is down and out!
Terry Hogan – Jesus! How much is SWL gold worth to these people that they’re willing to risk killing each other to get it?
Charlie Watkins – I don’t know, but the Ghost is definitely gone. Kevin Steele may have knocked himself a little loopy, but he did a hell of a lot more damage to his adversary.
[Arcola and Ty Shun Ho both set up ten-foot ladders next to the big twenty-foot one in the middle of the ring. Jett Jones goes after Janus and Rhodes staggers to the big ladder. Arcola, Ty Shun Ho, and Rhodes begin to slowly climb. Jett Jones dumps Janus out of the ring and begins to climb the ladder opposite Arcola. Kevin Steele and Janus slowly make their way into the ring and begin to climb opposite Ty Shun Ho and Rhodes respectively. Within a few minutes, all six men are high in the air and the audience begins to stir.]
Terry Hogan – I don’t like this. I don’t like this at all.
Charlie Watkins – There’s about to be an epic confrontation high above the ring. All six remaining men are trying to get to that World Title belt.
[Shots begin to fly left and right as each man tries to knock someone else down. Suddenly, Arcola ducks a big shot from Jones, but Jones’ weight and momentum cause the ladder to fall sideways. Arcola and Jones both hit the ground hard. Janus reaches over and shoves the ladder to his side and Kevin Steele and Ty Shun Ho’s ladder falls over, straddling them both on the top rope. The crowd comes alive as Janus and Rhodes square off on a twenty-foot ladder in the ring.]
Charlie Watkins – This is it! Who’s going to get that belt first?
Terry Hogan – I can’t believe this excitement!
[A shot from Janus rocks Rhodes. Rhodes fires back with a right hand of his own, dazing Janus. Janus thumbs Rhodes in the eye and Rhodes slips down a step and is stunned. Janus reaches for the belt and has it in his fingertips when Rhodes reaches up and pushes him forward as hard as he can. Janus waves his arms and tries to stay up, but teeters too close to the edge of his step and plummets to the mat. Rhodes slowly steps up and grabs the title belt. Janus summons all his strength to get up and pushes the ladder over, but Rhodes holds on to the wire that holds the belt. Rhodes loses his grip and begins to fall, but flails his arms and catches the title belt, yanking it from the wire and falling to the mat. The bell rings.]
Anna Dea – Here is your winner and the NEW SWL World Heavyweight Champion, "Luscious" Lawrence Rhodes!!!
Terry Hogan – What a match! I can’t believe what I’ve just seen!
Charlie Watkins – Ladies and gentlemen, what you have just seen can only be described as the most action-packed Pay Per View in SWL history! We thank you so much for joining us tonight and sharing the experience.
(Ebony runs down to the ring and hugs Rhodes in the center of the ring as a strange noise echoes over the speakers in the arena and the jumbotron mysteriously flickers on.)
Charlie Watkins - I guess we aren't done after all.
(It reveals the source of the noise as the camera focuses on the roulette wheel that has been accompanying "Luscious" Lawrence Rhodes all night. As the wooden pointer on the wheel passes metal peg after metal peg, the camera begins to pan out revealing a well-built man standing by the wheel. He is wearing a pear of black adidas tear-aways and a white tank-top style undershirt which emphasizes his tanned, muscular chest and arms. The crowd gives a huge pop as the camera finally pans up to his face revealing his identity.)
BRET REAL - Hey, Champ... Remember me? (smirk) It seems to me that you issued a challenge earlier on in the night that no one wanted to accept. When I called President Williams a little while ago, I didn't expect to be facing the SWL World Champion... (Real looks at the wheel beside him)... but it looks like lady-luck may be on my side tonight.
(The screen goes black and the lights in the arena go off for a moment. The stage entrance illuminates in a cloud of electric-blue lights and smoke as Rage Against The Machine's "Bulls On Parade" begins to play. The crowd gives another pop as Bret Real steps out from behind the curtain and stands at the top of the ramp. A slight smile appears on Real's face as he surveys the sold out crowd. As he begins to slowly make his way half-way down the entrance ramp, Real motions for the sound crew to turn down his entrance theme and stares at LLR in the ring...)
BRET REAL - So whaddaya say Lawrence... One match to decide the true fate of our SWL destiny? Man to man... Triple-Crown winner to Triple-Crown winner... Regulator to Regulator...
You are ONE of the greatest, Rhodes. There is no doubt about that... But this is your chance to show everyone here (Real sweeps his finger across the capacity crowd) and all those people at home watching on pay-per-view that you... Luscious Lawrence Rhodes... are THE greatest of all time!
(Real drops his mic-hand to his side and stares into the ring.)
RHODES - [Puts his head in his hands and lets out a chuckle.] You know Bret .. not even I could see that one coming. Just throw a little curve ball in there and get me swinging like the proverbial Mr Swing from Swingsville. They can take the Regulators out of the SWL, but they can't take the Regulators out of the man. Bret Real .. you are the man. The originator .. the goddam Real Deal. And the fact that I can stand on the same page as you makes me one proud dude.
[Ebony moves closer to Rhodes and holds onto his arm.]
RHODES - You know, I did offer all those guys an opportunity ... but they didn't wanna come down to my level. They thought I was washed up, a has been .. but you know what this is only the beginning. So Bret ... my answer has gotta be yeah ... Ill go one on one with you tonight ... man against man ... Regulator against Regulator. The SWL has been my life for over a year ... it was your life for longer ... so I think these people deserve it ... you know .. lets do it Bret.
[Rhodes smiles as he leans around to hug Ebony.]
"Luscious" Lawrence
Rhodes vs. Brett " The Regulator" Real
Hell in a Cell
SWL Heavyweight Title Match
[The Hell in a Cell begins to lower from the ceiling bringing a great response from the Amsterdam crowd.]
Charlie Watkins – So this might well be it Terry. Maybe the final play by play that you'll ever call [Smirk]
Terry Hogan – Both these guys are SWL triple title holders ... both are ex-Regulators ... and both know each other inside out. This is it ... to see who's the man ... !!!!
Anna Dea – The following contest, scheduled for one fall, is for the SWL Heavyweight championship!
[Pop.]
Anna Dea – And…once more it will be contested inside … the Hell in a Cell!
[ENORMOUS pop.]
Terry Hogan – What a reception !!! These European fans really know their stuff ... that really surprises me..
Anna Dea – This is a no disqualification bout ... the first man to score a pinfall or a submission in the ring wins the match and will be the SWL Heavyweight Champion . [The crowd cheers.]
Charlie Watkins – This could be a long drawn out match ...
Terry Hogan – Here we go .. lets get this on.
Anna Dea - Introducing first, the challenger, weighing in at 285 pounds, a triple-crown champion and only member of the SWL Hall of Fame ... Bret "The Regulator" Real!!! (crowd cheers ***********)
[As the heavy electric guitar from Rage Against the Machine's "Bulls on Parade" starts to play, blue strobe lights flash through the arena and a combination of blue lights and smoke fill the entrance way. Bret Real makes his way to the center of the entrance and stands in the midst of the blue haze. He slowly walks down to the ring as the crowd raise the roof. When he gets to the ring, he enters through the door, jumps over the ropes. ]
Charlie Watkins – I thought we'd never see Bret again in a SWL ring. This is one hell of an opportunity for the Regulator.
Anna Dea – And his opponent,
[The crowd begins to buzz.]
Anna Dea - …weighing in at 293 pounds, from London, England, accompanied by Ebony … the SWL Heavyweight Champion "Luscious" Lawrence Rhodes!!! !!!
[The prodigy mix of Methodmans 'Release Yo'delf echoes around the arena. A yellowish hue lights the entrance as Ebony steps out from the back. She is wearing a tight silver sequined dress, matching elbow length sequined gloves and a choker. She holds triumphantly the SWL Heavyweight Championship belt. She stands surveying the crowd, and is grinning from ear to ear. 'Luscious' Lawrence Rhodes steps out from the back. Rhodes has on a pair union jack print trunks ... as well as union jack print boots. He wears a Regulators tee-shirt. He stands behind Ebony and the camera picks up a massive grin on his face. As the pair begin the walk towards the ring, Rhodes slaps hands with a few fans. Ebony climbs the steel steps and enters the cage, as Rhodes removes his tee-shirt and throws it into the crowd. Rhodes enters the cage and rolls under the ropes into the ring. Rhodes backs into the corner as Ebony holds the belt aloft. Bret Real moves to the center of the ring and tries to touch the belt. Ebony pulls it away, but Rhodes steps forward. He extends a hand and he and Bret Real shake.]
Charlie Watkins – Well the crowd are split 50/50 on this ...
[The referee holds the belt up to the crowd. He hands it to a crewman who takes it to the timekeeper’s table. The opening bell rings.]
Terry Hogan – Well you can feel the passion for this match. The crowd are into this .. and I must say so am I.
[The two men circle each other ... then tie up. Real applies a side headlock but Rhodes reverses it into a hammerlock. Real then reaches through his legs and sweeps Rhodes to the canvas. Real applies a step over toehold but Rhodes kicks him off then rolls to his knee. Rhodes gets up, smiles and then extends a hand. Bret Real again shakes as they circle the ring. Real moves closer but is taken down with a shoulder block. Rhodes bounces off the ropes, but Real takes him down with a scissors sweep.]
Charlie Watkins – Well both men showing each other a lot of respect here ...
Terry Hogan – Too much in my opinion .. come on get on with it ...!!
[Rhodes hooks Real in a waistlock and delivers a German suplex. He bridges into a pin, but Real kicks out before the referee can get down to count . Real gets up quickly and catches Rhodes with a kick to the midsection. Rhodes doubles up as Real grabs Rhodes and tosses him over the ropes to the outside.]
Charlie Watkins – They're taking this out of the ring in a hurry. I wouldn't have thought they would want that out there.
[Real rolls out of the ring and stomps on Rhodes as he begins to stir. ]
Terry Hogan – Thats not like Bret Real ... showing some passion after all these years.
Charlie Watkins - Well there's a lot at stake tonight Terry ... as if you've forgotten..
[Real pulls Rhodes to his feet ... then measures a right hand to Rhodes head. Real hits him once, then twice ... on the third ocassion Rhodes sees it and grabs onto the side of the cage, using it as leverage to swing up and kick Brett Real square in the chest ... sending him stumbling back Rhodes lets go of the cage and springs forward in a clothesline sending Real to the floor. Rhodes moves over to the steel steps, he unfastens them and then pulls them to one side. Rhodes easily picks them up ... he holds them above his head and moves ominously towards Bret Real. As Rhodes drops the steps ... Bret Real rolls to one side. A close up camera shot shows a shocked look on Bret Real's face.]
Charlie Watkins – Wow ... that was interesting ... Lawrence Rhodes really intended to hurt Bret Real there.
Terry Hogan – This is real life Charlie ... they cant afford to take chances in there ... its every man for himself..
[Bret Real crawls to his feet. He rolls back into the ring, then rises to his feet. Lawrence Rhodes follows Real into the ring and stands to one side watching his fellow Regulator. Rhodes moves towards Real and kicks him in the head. Rhodes grabs Real and applies an arm wrench. Real struggles to get to his feet but eventually stands up. Rhodes slaps Real to the side of his head ... but The Regulator lifts Rhodes into the air and delivers a spine buster. Bret Real covers "Luscious" Lawrence Rhodes. The referee counts. ... 1 ... 2 Rhodes kicks out ... and then rolls to the outside. Rhodes shakes out his head and neck as Bret Real looks on. Within a flash Real baseball slides into Lawrence Rhodes sending him crashing head first into the steel structure. Real then rolls to the outside and drags Rhodes to his feet. He then rubs his head from side to side into the steel cage. ]
Terry Hogan – Nasty ... very, very nasty.!
[Bret Real lets Rhodes fall into a heap. He then stomps onto the fallen Luscious One. Blood trickles from Rhodes forehead. Rhodes wipes the blood but then smiles. Bret Real steps back and just looks at Rhodes. Real smiles.]
Charlie Watkins – Seems like its the self appreciation match here tonight ??
Terry Hogan – Theyre just enjoying it Charlie .. its all very strange to me ..
Charlie Watkins – Well your absolutely right ...
[The Regulator rolls back into the ring .. closely followed by Lawrence Rhodes. Real moves closer ... then delivers a short-arm clothesline. Bret Real rolls onto Rhodes connecting with a knee. He then drops a knee again ... then again. Bret Real moves away ... and allows Rhodes to stands up. Bret Real then grabs his hand and flips him to the mat. Real covers ...1 ...2 but Rhodes kicks out.
["Luscious" Lawrence Rhodes rises to his feet. He moves towards Bret Real who trys for a Back Breaker but Rhodes avoids it. Out of nowhere Lawrence Rhodes lifts Bret Real up and drops him on his knee. Then Rhodes spins Real around and applies a boston crab. Referee Kevin Mills is checking for a tap out. ... ... Bret Real trys to escape. ... "Luscious" Lawrence Rhodes breaks the hold. "Luscious" Lawrence Rhodes drops a fist into Reals back then rolls back to his feet. As Rhodes turns Real is back on his feet. Bret Real takes Rhodes off his feet with a short-arm clothesline, then applies an arm wrench. ]
Terry Hogan - Its been all Bret Real ... Rhodes is in trouble
[Bret Real sends "Luscious" Lawrence Rhodes to ringside. He then follows him out ... Real begins to stomps Rhodes. But Rhodes throws a punch that staggers Real back. Rhodes staggers to his feet then drop toe holds Real into the steel cage. Real crumples in a heap as Rhodes seems to be making his way to the cage door.]
Charlie Watkins - Lawrence Rhodes is trying to escape here ... I'm not sure what he's trying to do.
[Rhodes moves slowly through the door. He drops to his knees and picks up a folded steel chair. Rhodes seemingly waits for Bret Real.]
Terry Hogan - This could be dangerous for the Regulator here. Rhodes is waiting for him ...
[Bret Real has pulled himself together and is easing his way through the cage door. He sticks his head out ... allowing Lawrence Rhodes a free swing. Rhodes brings the chair hard down on Real's cranium.]
Charlie Watkins - Well friendship just went out the window ... Rhodes has leveled Real
[Bret Real lies motionless at the cage entrance. His face covered in blood. Rhodes begins to scales the side of the cell. Slowly and with the crowds cheers ringing in his ears he moves towards the top. As Rhodes swings his leg over Bret Real begins to rise to his feet. Rhodes is on his knees as he looks down at Bret Real. Real looks up and then wipes the blood away. He bends to pick up the steel chair that had been smashed over his head. He looks up at Rhodes and then launches the chair. Rhodes ducks slightly to one side ... the chair sails past him and lands on top of the cage.]
Terry Hogan - Well Bret Real is trying to get up the side of the cage. Not a very smart move ... Rhodes is just there waiting.
[Real is half way up the cage when Lawrence Rhodes begins to rise to his feet. He moves towards the center as Real reaches the top. Real swings himself over as Rhodes picks up the chair. Real again wipes the blood away .. then moves towards Rhodes. Rhodes swings the chair, but Real sidesteps him. Rhodes smashes the chair into the cage and drops it. Real quickly regains his balance and then ddt's Rhodes on the cage ... just missing the steel chair. Rhodes rolls to one side as Real quickly gets to his feet. He then picks the chair up ... and takes a swing at Rhodes. Rhodes moves as the chair misses his head by inches. Real brings the chair down again .. and misses again.]
Charlie Watkins - Bret Real is trying to kill Rhodes here ... live in Amsterdam.
[Real again tries to bring the chair down on Rhodes, but Rhodes moves once more. Real drops the chair then drops an elbow in the side of Rhodes head. Real gets to his feet but Rhodes is up on his knees and begging him to hit him. Real stares back at Rhodes. Bret Real shakes his head and motions to Rhodes to get up. Rhodes staggers to his feet ... and Real moves back as though waiting for his next move. Rhodes staggers forward ... Real moves in closer ... but Rhodes hooks on a suplex. Rhodes then executes a standing suplex on top of the cage. As Real hits the cage gives way ... sending both Rhodes and Real the 20 feet to the canvas below. The referee who is standing below in the ring is inadvertantly hit by the two falling wrestlers.]
Terry Hogan - We've got a problem now. Both wrestlers may have knocked themselves senseless ... and the referee is out of there ..
[The camera shows both wrestlers and the referee spreadeagle in the ring. Part of the cage lies over the men.]
Charlie Watkins - Well ... they're not moving ... we may have to end this.
[At that moment Lawrence Rhodes stirs. He sits bolt upright ... the camera shows a rye smile on his face. As he struggles to his feet Bret Real begins to move. He moves part of the cage to one side before struggling to his knees.]
Terry Hogan - Well this is going to be interesting!!! The referee is still down as both men struggle to their feet.
[Both Bret Real and Lawrence Rhodes woble on their feet as they move towards each other. Rhodes moves in for a test of strength but at the last moment rolls Real up into a small package.]
Charlie Watkins - Rhodes with a pin attempt .... 1 ... 2 ... 3 ... 4 ... 5
Terry Hogan - There's no referee there to make the count. Rhodes has Real pinned.
[Rhodes releases the hold and rolls to his knees. He looks at Real and then the referee. Lawrence Rhodes then smashes his hand onto the mat 3 times.]
Charlie Watkins - Rhodes showing his anger here ... there was no referee to make the count.
Terry Hogan - But thats part of the game Charlie ...
[Rhodes raises to his feet and moves over to the referee. He tries to wake him as Bret Real struggles to his feet.]
Charlie Watkins - Rhodes better watch out!!! Bret Real is moving up behind Rhodes.
[Bret Real spins Lawrence Rhodes around and delivers a front face bulldog on him. Real rolls Rhodes over and makes the pin ...
Terry Hogan - Now Real with a pin ... 1... 2... 3... 4 ... 5
Charlie Watkins - But there's no referee there to make the count.
[Bret Real then releases the hold and throws his head towards the sky.]
Terry Hogan - Bret Real should have won it there ....
Charlie Watkins - Terry !!! Are you watching this ... ???? There's no referee there to make the count.
[The camera cuts to the back. President Brian Williams is shown speaking to another referee ..]
Terry Hogan - Looks like the Presidents making a decision here. About time to.
[President Williams is shown ordering the referee out to the ring. The referee is shown shrugging his shoulders and begins to run down to the ring.]
Charlie Watkins - Well we have a new referee coming down to the ring. This could get very interesting.
[As the new referee reaches half way down the aisle Ebony steps in front of him. She puts both her hands up and tries to stop him reaching the ring.]
Terry Hogan - What is Ebony doing????? Why doesn't she just leave them to get on with it ???
[The camera shows the original referee stirring. He stumbles to his hands and knees and then starts to crawl to the center of the ring.]
Charlie Watkins - Well this is great. If Ebony gets out of the way we'll have two referees ...
[The camera then shows Lawrence Rhodes trying to climb the turnbuckle. He stumbles to the second rope when Bret Real catches him. Real delivers a right hand, then another, then another.]
Terry Hogan - Bret Real on the offensive here. This could be his push for the match
[Lawrence Rhodes wobbles on the turnbuckle ... as Bret Real delivers another right hand. He then jumps on the second rope and pushes Rhodes down to the canvas. Real then springs from the ropes and delivers a leg drop across Rhodes throat. Rhodes rolls up into a ball holding his neck. Ebony sees that Rhodes is in trouble and runs to the outside of the cage. The second referee then continues his way down to the ring and enters through the cage door.]
Charlie Watkins - Well here we go. Now we have two referees ... I'm telling you this is going to get interesting
[Real begins to stir and moves towards Rhodes. He picks him up and staggers, carrying his dead weight to the other side of the cell. In one movement Real throws Rhodes head first into the steel structure. The crowd lets out a giant ‘uhwaaa’.]
Charlie Watkins – My God! Bret Real is trying to maime Lawrence Rhodes. I can’t believe it!
[Real picks up Rhodes and whips him into the ropes. Rhodes comes back off of the ropes and ducks Real's clothesline attempt. Rhodes comes off the other ropes with a shoulder block sending Bret Real down.]
Terry Hogan - Rhodes on the offensive.
[Lawrence Rhodes rises to his feet and stomps Bret Real. His stomping reaches a crescendo.
Charlie Watkins - Rhodes with a pin attempt
[The new referee begins to make the count ... but after two the original referee pulls him up.]
Terry Hogan – What the hell !!!!! . We now have the referees fighting.
[As the referees squabble Rhodes pulls Bret Real to his feet, he has Real ready for a suplex. Lawrence Rhodes hoists Bret Real high in the air ...]
Charlie Watkins - Rhodes is going for 'One for the Ladies'. He has Real high in the air ....
Terry Hogan - Hang on !!!!! Bret Real now wriggling out the back. He had Rhodes finisher scouted.
Charlie Watkins - Scouted ..... he knows Rhodes inside out.
[Bret Real rolls out the back of Rhodes move. Rhodes stands gobsmacked ... as the camera picks up Bret Real smiling. Real now moves towards Rhodes he kicks him in the midsection. Then hooks on a DDT.
Terry Hogan - Now its Bret Real on the offensive. It's his Judgement Day!
Charlie Watkins - Wait .. !!!! Rhodes has hooked his leg around Reals. He has him in another small package ...
[At that moment both referees stop there squabbling and drop to the mat for the count. They both go to different sides.]
Terry Hogan - 1 ... 2 ... 3 ...
[The referees signal for the bell.]
Charlie Watkins - We have a winner .. Terry ... we have a winner ...
Terry Hogan - Maybe Charlie .. but who ???????
[The original referee moves towards Lawrence Rhodes and grabs his hand. The second referee moves towards Bret Real and grabs his hand. At the same time they both raise the respective wrestlers hands.]
Charlie Watkins - Well there you go .. both wrestlers think they have won.
[Both Rhodes and Real are celebrating mid ring when they realize something is wrong.]
Terry Hogan - Well here we go .. this is gonna be interesting ... !!!
[Both Real and Rhodes square up. They stand eyeball to eyeball.]
["Rebel Yell" by Billy Idol blares over the loudspeakers as Brian Williams makes his way down the aisle and into the ring. He takes a long look at both competitors and an even longer look at the referees as he slowly brings the microphone to his mouth.]
Brian Williams - I don't think I need to tell a great big story of the history of the SWL and what it has meant to me and countless others. I don't think I need to mention the champions that the SWL has had. But I will anyway. "The Eliminator" R.B. Burns, Micheal Cage, the man who is standing before me in Bret "The Regulator" Real, "The SWL's Most Notorious Man" Grinnin, "The Kid" Billy Rock, Johnny Spades, "Luscious" Lawrence Rhodes, and our most recent champion Janus. All these men have given meeaning, heart, and soul to the SWL and it's Championship belt. It has been the one pinnacle that everyone has tried desperately to attain. And yet, only a handful of people actually reached that pinnacle. The men who didn't make it to the top? It's a veritable who's who of wrestling, of which I won't go through the list, because that could take all night.
But in my time as president of the SWL, I have seen and experienced some amazing things. And I thank all of you for that. Each person provided entertainment for me to go beyond my original goal of the SWL, which was to please my girlfriend Steph. When Grinnin took her away from me, I could have closed down the SWL as I had nothing to run it for anymore. But you all made the difference in your own little way. In time, I think everyone would have reached the pinnacle of the SWL, but time is not something that is available to anyone anymore as 2001 is the last Pay Per View the SWL will ever have.
If this was not the last show we would have, I would have to settle this some other way. But because there is no tomorrow in the SWL, I have only one choice. I have to declare you both World Champions. The only people in the SWL to win the triple crown. And now the only two people who have held the SWL World Title twice.
To all of our fans, you have took a ride with the SWL. We loved every minute of bringing it to you.
To Charlie and Terry, you two were the voice of the SWL for it's entire existence. Thank you.
And finally, to the wrestlers, you are what made the SWL what it was. You've fought long and hard, and now you finally get a break from all this. I thank you all. I believe the catch-phrase that I lured people here was, "Come make yourself a star in the SWL." There is no doubt that every single one of you did that
It's been a great ride. Thank you!
(Brian Williams slowly walks up the aisle)
Terry Hogan - I feel a bit cheated.
Charlie Watkins - How is that?
Terry Hogan - Two World Champions at the same time? That's crap.
Charlie Watkins - But it's the way it is.
(Lawrence Rhodes and Bret Real are seen in the ring shaking hands and both raising one end of the belt.)
Terry Hogan - Charlie, I had a great time. It's been great working with you. I will surely miss you next week when we don't have a show.
Charlie Watkins - No you won't. You'll be off vacationing somewhere having the time of your life.
Terry Hogan - Hey! I am trying to be senceative here! I really did have a great time thought.
Charlie Watkins - As did I, Terry. As did I.
(The video begins to fade out with Brian Williams making his way to the back waving at the fans.)
Charlie Watkins - Well folks, this is where we say adios. For....
Terry Hogan - Chuck, let me say good-bye for myself for once.
Charlie Watkins - Ok.
Terry Hogan - This is Terry Hogan for Charlie Watkins saying good-bye.
Charlie Watkins - And Keep Reaching For Those Stars!
