[Opening credits.]
Charlie Watkins – Live from the Charlotte Collesium in Charlotte, North Carolina, this is Sunday Night Shockwave. Hello, everyone. I’m Charlie Watkins and with me as always is Terry Hogan.
Terry Hogan – It’s our end of the year supercard, Charlie. All four titles our on the line.
[The Arena goes dark and on the screen appear black and white images of war.]
Charlie Watkins – What’s this?
[Men with Nazi emblems on their uniforms are surrendering. The fans observe as American and Russian forces capture the Nazis and shake hands. Suddenly a loud voice appears over the loud speakers.]
Voice: "In 1945, the American and Soviet troops invaded Berlin and defeated Nazi Germany, however, the alliance was brief as a Cold War began"
[The scene shifts, once again on a black and white, the Kremlin is shown with people chanting and then the screen blinks and Washington is shown with people chanting]
Voice: "Until 1990, when Communism fell, a Cold War existed between the USSR and the United States, now finally both countries are on the same page, however, now a new Cold War has begun"
[An image of Nikita Morozov wearing red wrestling tights, black boots and a white T-shirt that says "COLD WAR II" in red lettering and the Quasar Title around his waist appears on the screen. The Image begins to slowly turn 360 degrees, on the back the shirt says "Morozov vs. SWL".]
Voice: "In the year 2000, the millennium, Cold War Two begins!"
[Suddenly he screen fades back to normal and the lights come back on]
Charlie Watkins – What’s THAT all about?
Terry Hogan – I don’t know, but we’ve got to get started
Charlie Watkins – Let’s hear from John Steele.
[John Steele makes his way to the ring.]
John: I waited long for this moment to happen, but finally I'm back as a champion. I'm back in the golden game.
[Crowd cheers.]
John: And what better way to celebrate this, then to step out into the spotlight, and let you know my thoughts about what's happening here in the SWL. First, we've seen the Lynchmob get beaten by Dark Justice.
[Some fans start to boo as John mentions these two teams.]
John: And now, Dark Justice gets a title match against the champions. I think something's missing in this scene.
[He waits a few moments building the tension ...]
John: The Lynchmob also got beaten by Xtreme Velocity.
[Face pop.]
John: Now, Williams, why doesn't Xtreme Velocity get a title shot?
[The crowd gives a big pop.]
John: Ok, I know ... Richard doesn't want this to happen. He thinks that his team isn't ready yet. But I know him. And I trained a whole week with Jason, and .. this boy is better then any of these deranged wannabe sherifs from Oklahoma. And when I entered last week's match I was the underdog. But here I stand, holding the title as a sign of the superiority of a real Warrior Of Rock.
[Big crowd pop as he mentions the legendary stable Richard and he were part of.]
John: But on to the next man. MOB! I can't forgive you what you did to me when I entered the arena tonight. You think you can attack me outside the ring. MOB, you won't ever win a title if you think that attacking your opponent backstage will help you anyhow. But, as I watched the tapes from last week's Shockwave, I noticed that Morozov attacked you before I hit "The Liberty" for the pin. And I wouldn't be the man I am, if I wouldn't offer you one more shot at the title. MOB, let's end this, before it increases to something you can't handle. I want you, in the ring. Just both of us. And we'll see who's the better wrestler, the better brawler, the better ... man!
[Another crowd pop.]
John: But one more thing. If I want to offer MOB a title shot, then I'll have to make sure that I win tonight's match. Ty Shun Ho! "The Dragon"! I have the greatest respect for you, and I know what it means for you to have that nickname. I know that we're not talking about these evil, fire-breathing creatures, but noble animals, the gods of the weather, the sign of fertility. But Ho, I think you're forgotten one thing: .... Dragons have died out a long time ago.
[Big crowd pop.]
John: Let's see what will prevail at the end. Dead animals from novels, or Liberty. Cause tonight, I'll fight for this belt, and for my own nickname, and when this is over I'll be once again know as "The Liberator". Ho, get ready to get liberated!
[Giant crowd pop as Steele leaves the ring.]
Charlie Watkins – Let’s get things started with our big tag team match.
The Ghost From Nowhere and Jarred Varsity vs. "Big D" Devastation and "The Showstopper" Jett Jones
Anna Dea – The following contest is a tag team match scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, from the Dungeon of Devastation, weighing in at 400 pounds, "Big D" Devastation!

Anna Dea – His partner, from Highlands, North Carolina, weighing in at 283 pounds, "The Showstopper" Jett Jones!

The Showstopper- It's.......SHINING BRIGHT IN.......CHARLOTTE!!!!!!!!
(the crowd cheers)
The Showstopper-Now,The Showstopper has done his damage to Nikita Morosov and I overheard....."The Toilet Flushin' Bear" in the back and he mentioned that my skills are not as big as my mouth!!! Well, Morosov.......I will prove your @$$ wrong down the road, but tonight I have to put you aside, because I have to team with "Big D" Devastation!
(the crowd shakes a little and Big D glances over at him. Jones points at Big D)
The Showstopper-Yeah,well.....The Showstopper is only gonna say one thing and that's...........If you screw The Showstopper, tonight in this freaking ring.............I will make sure, that you never ever see the light of day again........BECAUSE,I'LL SHOVE YOUR HEAD SOOOOOOO FAR UP YOUR F*CKIN @$$!!!
(The crowd shakes the roof as Big D laughs at him.)
(Just as The Showstopper about gives the mic back, he stops and holds it back to his lips)
The Showstopper- Oh yeah!Varsity......Ghost?........When you walk down that aisle,I want you to think of 4 letters!........................................W.W.T.T.........which means..............Who Wants The Thriller?!
(The Showstopper flips the mic back to Anna Dea)
Terry Hogan – Why is he antagonizing his partner before the match even starts?
Charlie Watkins – I don’t know, but I thing Big D gets a kick out of Jones’ little spiel.
Anna Dea – Their opponents, introducing first, from Indianapolis, Indiana, weighing in at 258lbs, Jarred Varsity!
[The lights fade to blackness across the whole arena. Anticipation grows across the arena as the crowd’s heads turn towards the entranceway. "Prosthetics" by Slipknot starts up and, after several seconds, Jarred Varsity steps through the curtains to a fine reaction from the crowd. He is dressed in black and red wrestling tights and has a black T-shirt on which reads "Varsity Equals Victory". His long, blonde hair falls across his clean-cut face as he stands still at the top of the aisle. After soaking in some of the cheers, Varsity begins to make his way towards the ringside. He does so slowly, focusing his attentions on the match ahead of him. You can see him silently speaking to himself as he reaches the ringside area. He partly walks around the ring before stopping and clambering up onto the ring apron. With a look of concentration and determination on his face, he looks into the eyes of the audience, which react well. He then steps through the middle ropes and proceeds to climb up to the second turnbuckle of one of the corners. Varsity salutes the crowd by lifting both arms in the air. He then steps down and walks across to the opposite side, where he proceeds to do the same. Finally, he whips his T-shirt off his back and hurls it into the crowd.]
Anna Dea – His partner, from Eerie, Indiana, weighing in at 234 pounds, The Ghost From Nowhere!
[Soundgarden’s "Black Hole Sun" plays as the Ghost From Nowhere makes his way to the ring.]
Charlie Watkins – A tag team battle with four very unique personalities here.
Terry Hogan – I don’t think we’re going to see too much in the way of continuity with these four.
[Varsity and Big D start the match and circle each other in the ring. Varsity finds himself near a neutral corner. He tries to move away, but Big D heaves him into the turnbuckle and unloads on him with shots to the midsection and head. Big D whips Varsity to the corner and charges in with a body avalanche. He delivers a Somoan Drop and tags Jones. He holds Varsity while Jones comes off the second rope with an ax handle smash.]
Charlie Watkins – Nice teamwork.
Terry Hogan – Jarred Varsity is in the wrong part of town.
[Jones delivers a side suplex and attacks the Ghost on the apron. The Ghost tries to get in the ring, but the referee comes to put him out. In the meantime, Big D and Jones double-team Varsity in the ring. Big D nails a big splash and goes for a pin. Varsity somehow kicks out at two. Nikita Morosov appears at the entranceway and walks down the ramp.]
Charlie Watkins – Oh no.
Terry Hogan – Relax, Charlie. He doesn’t have his chain with him at least.
[Ghost and Jones both eye Morosov cautiously. Ghost’s attention is diverted long enough for Big D to deliver the running powerbomb.]
Charlie Watkins – Devastator!
[Big D makes the pin on Varsity…1…2…3!]
Anna Dea – Here are your winners, "Big D" Devastation and "The Showstopper" Jett Jones!
Terry Hogan – How do you like that? The Ghost didn’t even get into the ring.
[Ghost and Varsity exit separately. Morosov gets into the ring and Jones stares him down.]
Morozov [Puts out his hand in a stop like position]: Hold on here, the Bear is not here to fight, Jones, I am just here to talk.
[Morozov proceeds to remove his Quasar title]
Morozov [Glares at both Big D and Jones]: Big D, I am here to address your partner, [looks at Jones], Jett Jones, this is the Quasar Title, a highly respected belt in the industry and because of your tenacity since your return I think you deserve well...
[Morozov looks away for a second and then nails Jones in the head with the belt. As Big D approaches, Morozov reaches quickly into his boots and tosses white powder in Big D's face, blinding the big man. Morozov clotheslines Big D, knocking him down. As Jett Jones begins to stand up, Morozov runs over and delivers a kick to the face, soccer style and knocks Jones down again. Morozov glares at the crowd, picks up Jones, and places him on the top rope.]
Charlie Watkins – I don’t like the looks of this.
[Morosov delivers the Russian Hammer off the top. Jones is down and Morozov quickly grabs the belt and begin to leave the ring. As he is walking through the ropes, he suddenly stops and walks back into the ring, where Big D is trying to get the powder out of his eyes. Morozov delivers a spin savate kick to Big D's abdomen and lifts the 400 pounder up into the Russian Hammer.]
Charlie Watkins – Oh my God!
Terry Hogan – How strong is the Russian Bear? He picked up Big D like he was a lightweight.
[Morozov stands up and glares at the fallen opponents, surveying the damage he has done. He then grabs the belt and heads out of the ring to Curmina Burona.]
Charlie Watkins – What an impact the Quasar Champion has made here tonight!
Terry Hogan – And the night is still young!
John Steele vs. "The Dragon" Ty Shun Ho
SWL Spotlight Championship Match
Anna Dea – The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the SWL Spotlight Championship! Coming down the aisle, the challenger, from Osaka, Japan, weighing in at 230 pounds, "The Dragon" Ty Shun Ho!
["Welcome to the Jungle" by Guns and Roses plays as a weird Japanese symbol shows on the jumbotron. An explosion of red and green go off as Ty Shun Ho walks out. He stands on the outside of the ring and flips over the ropes to the middle of the ring. He flexes his biceps.]
Anna Dea – His opponent, ["Open your Eyes" by Guano Apes starts to play over the PA system.] hailing from Chicago, Illinois, and weighing in at 263 pounds, the SWL Spotlight Champion… here is… JOHN STEEEEELE!!!
[No one comes out of the entranceway. The camera cuts to backstage, where a brawl is ensuing. John Steele is fighting with MOB Squad.]
Terry Hogan – What’s this? Steele! You’ve got a match out here.
[Steele hits the Liberty Backbreaker out of nowhere and grabs a chair lying nearby. He smashes MOB Squad’s leg over and over.]
Charlie Watkins – He’s trying to shatter MOB Squad’s leg.
Terry Hogan – He may do it, too. Someone stop him!
[Security breaks up the fight and Steele makes his way to the ring. MOB Squad lies on the floor, writhing in pain.]
Charlie Watkins – MOB Squad may be hurt.
Terry Hogan – What was he thinking, picking a fight right before his big tag team match?
[John Steele and Ty Shun Ho are in the ring and the bell sounds. Steele offers a handshake and Ho accepts it.]
Terry Hogan – Nice to see he’s resolved his aggressive tendencies.
Charlie Watkins – Whatever the case may be, we’ve got a Spotlight Title match going on.
[They tie up and Steele forces Ho into the corner. He lays into Ho with several knee lifts and takes him out of the corner with a high hiplock takeover. Steele whips Ho into the ropes and goes for a tilt-o-whirl slam, but Ho counters with a head scissors takedown. Ho hits Steele with two consecutive Japanese arm drags and catches him with a snap roundhouse kick to the face. The crowd lets out an ‘uuhwaah’.]
Charlie Watkins – That kick is quickly becoming one of the Dragon’s trademarks.
Terry Hogan – It certainly is dangerous.
[Ty Shun Ho whips Steele into the ropes. Steele ducks Ho’s knife-edge chop and plants his feet. Ho turns around and gets a belly-to-belly suplex from Steele. Steele applies a camel clutch. Ho reaches the ropes and the referee breaks the hold.]
Charlie Watkins – John Steele employing a strategy of control here.
Terry Hogan – The Dragon is one of the best aerial wrestlers in the SWL. But when they’re down on the mat, the advantage is Steele’s.
[Steele forces Ty Shun Ho into the ropes. He Irish whips Ho. Ho ducks a clothesline from Steele and comes back with a head scissors takedown. Ho goes for a hurricanrana but is hotshot off the top rope by Steele. Steele goes for the cover but only gets two.]
Charlie Watkins – John Steele seems to be one step ahead of the Dragon right now.
Terry Hogan – That’s the mark of a champion, thinking ahead.
[Steele whips Ho into the corner and comes charging in. Ho gets a foot up into Steele’s face and vaults to the second turnbuckle. He hooks Steele in a front facelock and delivers an awesome tornado DDT. Ty Shun Ho pumps himself up and the crowd responds. He goes to the outside and climbs to the top rope.]
Charlie Watkins – The Dragon taking a chance.
[Ty Shun Ho leaps off with a corkscrew moonsault, but Steele moves out of the way. Steele picks up Ho and delivers the spinning backbreaker.]
Charlie Watkins – The Liberty!
[Steele makes the pin…1…2…3!]
Anna Dea – Your winner and still SWL Spotlight Champion, John Steele!
Terry Hogan – You see? That’s why it’s called high-risk offense. You can win a match with it, but you can lose just as easily.
Janus vs. Justin Arcola
Anna Dea – The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, from Rome, Italy, weighing in at 285 pounds, Janus!
["When Worlds Collide" by Powerman 5000 hits as Janus comes out in a dark gray robe. His hood remains on until his music stops. He removes his hood and enters the ring.]
Anna Dea – His opponent, from Rochester, New York, weighing in at 252 pounds, Justin Arcola!
[Wagner’s "Ride of the Valkyries" cuts over the PA as Justin Arcola steps into the entranceway and raises his hand in a clenched fist over his head. He waits for the brass section to kick in and begins the slow and methodical walk to the ring. He stands on the second turnbuckle and raises his arms, taking in the applause form the fans.]
Charlie Watkins – One of the SWL’s fastest rising stars takes on a devastating returning veteran.
Terry Hogan – I can’t wait for this match. It could be the sleeper that steals the show.
[The bell rings and the two lock up. Arcola jockeys for position, but can’t get any leverage on the big man. Janus applies an arm wrench and turns it into a hammerlock. Arcola tries to reach around, but Janus holds on tightly. Janus lifts Arcola up in a flying hammerlock for a few seconds. Arcola scissors sweeps Janus to break the hold.]
Charlie Watkins – Nice wrestling action.
Terry Hogan – Justin Arcola is going to have to find some way to counteract Janus’ massive size advantage.
[Arcola ducks a clothesline from Janus and peppers him with quick jabs. Arcola whips Janus into the corner and hits him with a monkey flip. Janus gets up and catches Arcola’s kick. Janus sweeps Arcola and delivers an elbow to the inside of Arcola’s knee. Arcola hollers.]
Terry Hogan – I think Janus might have hit a good spot.
[Janus goes to apply a leg wrench, but Arcola grabs his head and rolls him into a quick small package. Janus kicks out at one. Janus gets up frustrated and lays the boots to Arcola. Janus whips Arcola into the ropes and powerslams him.]
Charlie Watkins – Now we’re seeing the high-impact moves beginning to come into play.
Terry Hogan – And when that happens, Arcola could get hurt real quick.
[Janus goes for a vertical suplex. Arcola blocks it and counters with a swinging neckbreaker. Janus gets up slow and Arcola Irish whips him into the corner. Arcola comes charging in and Janus moves out of the way. Arcola collides with the turnbuckle and Janus delivers a back suplex.]
Charlie Watkins – That could be all.
[Janus covers Arcola…1…2…Arcola kicks out. Arcola gets up and Janus hooks him around the waist. Janus goes for a belly-to-belly suplex, but Arcola gets his legs free, hooks the head of Janus, and counters with a swinging DDT. Both men are down]
Charlie Watkins – What a move!
Terry Hogan – They’re both ripe for the pickings now.
[Both men stumble to their feet. Janus thumbs Arcola in the eye and comes off the ropes. Arcola hits Janus with a spine buster slam out of nowhere. Arcola goes for a cover but only gets two. Arcola climbs to the top rope.]
Charlie Watkins – Justin Arcola isn’t known for his aerial tactics.
[Arcola leaps off the top rope with a big splash, but misses.]
Terry Hogan – That’s probably why.
[Janus covers Arcola and Arcola kicks out at the last minute. Janus whips Arcola into the ropes and nails him with a Somoan Drop. Arcola gets up slowly and Janus runs into the ropes. Arcola surprises him with a Greco-Roman throw.]
Terry Hogan – This kid doesn’t know when to stay down.
[Arcola goes for a piledriver, but can’t get Janus off his feet. Janus counters with a back body drop and falls across Arcola. The referee counts to two and Arcola bridges up, turning Janus into a backslide. Janus kicks out at two.]
Charlie Watkins – What an amazing match!
[Janus kicks Arcola in the midsection and bends him over backwards. He applies a facelock and lifts Arcola into a stalling suplex. Janus delivers the reverse brainbuster.]
Charlie Watkins – The End!
Terry Hogan – Arcola won’t get up from it.
[Janus covers Arcola…1…2…3!!!]
Anna Dea – Here is your winner, Janus!
Terry Hogan – What a spectacular match!
Charlie Watkins – Absolutely. That’s the kind of action you can expect here in the SWL.
Dark Justice vs. The Oklahoma Lynch Mob
Anna Dea – The following contest, scheduled for one fall, is for the SWL Tag Team Championship! Introducing first, at a total combined weight of 565 pounds, Kevin Steele and MOB Squad, Dark Justice!
[The lights in the house die down, and go black, and several blue spotlights light the stage area. Smoke begins to pour from the grating, filling the floor from the entrance door, across the stage, and all around the ring. Softly at first, 'Superbeast' by Rob Zombie begins to filter into the arena, and then slowly get louder and louder, until the very walls are shaking with the beat. As the music begin to pick up, in time, several firebombs go off on either side of the entrance, and then, as the heavy guitars kick in, a huge blast of flame erupts out of the center of the stage. Moments later, Kevin Steele, accompanied by Melina Vantadar, walks out to several more firebombs exploding on either side of the duo. Melina steps forward as the last firebomb goes off, and Kevin Steele follows her down to the ring in silence, slapping at a few of the fans who dare to reach their hands out. As he crawls into the ring, the music kicks in really hard, and three rings of firebombs chase each other around the ring twice, and the lights come up, and the music dies off. Melina takes the trademark leather jacket, and moves to ringside, Kevin Steele awaits his opponents in the ring.]
Charlie Watkins – Wait a minute. Where’s MOB Squad?
Terry Hogan – He must be injured.
Charlie Watkins – Is Kevin Steele thinking of doing this by himself?
Terry Hogan – If he is, it could be the stupidest mistake of his life. I wouldn’t feel comfortable with one Rogers boy by myself, let alone two.
Anna Dea – Their opponents, from Mustang, Oklahoma, at a total combined weight of 584 pounds, the team of J.W. and Joe Dean Rogers, the SWL Tag Team Champions, The Oklahoma Lynch Mob!
[...Lights in the arena go out. The sound of hundreds of galloping horses fill the arena and slowly fade, the snort and rear of a horse quickly break the silence. Two orange/red lights appear at the entrance to the arena as "South Texas Death Ride" by The Union Underground plays over the PA. Two figures dressed black dusters, jeans, and cowboy boots enter the aisle way carrying torches. Both have their heads covered by white burlap sacks, only two eye holes cut out. They make their way to ringside holding the torches in the air lighting their path. As they arrive they place a torch on either side of the steps. One of the hooded men steps onto the third step as the second remains on the floor with his arms crossed. From inside the duster, he removes a 13-ring noose and thrust it into the air. From behind the two a blast of fire comes from the ring post casting and eerie glow across the arena floor. The men remove their dusters and enter the ring, leaving the noose hanging from the top turnbuckle, the two torches sitting at ringside. They unstrap the belts from their waists and hold them high, taking in a big time crowd reaction.]
Charlie Watkins – Well, this has become a handicap match, if it wasn’t already.
Terry Hogan – I don’t know what Steele is thinking. Give up. You don’t stand a chance.
[The bell rings and both of the Lynch Mob attack Steele. They whip him into the corner and Joe Dean whips J.W. into him as J.W. hits Steele with a big time lariat. Steele stumbles out of the corner and Joe Dean delivers a big boot to his face. J.W. doesn’t leave the ring.]
Charlie Watkins – Come on. Someone stop this! This is career suicide for Kevin Steele.
Terry Hogan – He may lose a little more than his career if he doesn’t tuck his tail and leave.
[Steele pulls himself up by J.W.’s trunks. Steele weakly punches J.W. in the midsection and the Rogers laugh at him. J.W. whips Steele into the ropes and the Lynch Mob hit him with a double spine buster. They deliver a tandem neckbreaker.]
Charlie Watkins – Hey ref! Do your job! I know this is a handicap match now, but let’s at least keep it one on one.
Terry Hogan – Kevin Mills is 130 pounds and he’s in there with two of the most dangerous men alive. What do you want him to do?
[Joe Dean wipes his sweat off on Steele as J.W. signals for the High Plains Death Ride. Joe Dean goes to the outside and reaches under the ring. He pulls out a table.]
Charlie Watkins – Oh no.
Terry Hogan – OK. Maybe now it’s a little out of hand.
[Suddenly, MOB Squad appears limping down the ramp with a chair in hand.]
Charlie Watkins – MOB Squad is here!
Terry Hogan – And he’s got an equalizer with him.
[As the referee argues with J.W. in the ring, MOB Squad makes his way to Joe Dean and smashes him over the head with the chair, denting it. He throws the chair on the ground and gives Joe Dean the screwdriver right on top of it, bringing the crowd to their feet. He rolls back into the ring and hits J.W. with the Michinoku Driver.]
Charlie Watkins – MOB Squad is on fire.
[Kevin Steele musters enough strength to get to the top rope and leaps off with a diving headbutt.]
Charlie Watkins – Hand of Justice!
Terry Hogan – No way!
[MOB Squad makes the pin…1…2…3!!!]
Charlie Watkins – We’ve got new champions!
Anna Dea – The winners of this match, and NEW SWL Tag Team Champions, Dark Justice!!!
Charlie Watkins – The reign of terror perpetrated by the Lynch Mob is over!
Terry Hogan – It can’t be. MOB Squad has a title belt around his waist. What’s next?
Charlie Watkins – Come on. Don’t tarnish their moment of glory.
"The Russian Bear" Nikita Morosov vs. Not Applicable
SWL Quasar Championship Match
Anna Dea – The following contest, scheduled for one fall, is for the SWL Quasar Championship! Coming down the aisle, weighing in at 128 kilograms, Not Applicable!
[Bawitdaba by Kid Rock begins to play through out the arena and the fans immediately begin to boo harshly. After about 5 seconds of music Not Applicable comes out of the entrance area and heads to the ring area. He looks neither left nor right but straight ahead. He is wearing a pair of ripped up jeans, a black shirt that fails to hide his well muscled upper body. On his face is a simple black mask that conceals his true identity. When he rolls into the ring he looks at the referee and shakes his head when the referee attempts to check him and he can be overheard saying that the rules don’t apply to him and to back the hell off. He goes to a neutral corner and awaits the bell.]
Anna Dea – His opponent, from St. Petersburg, Russia, weighing in at 285 pounds, the SWL Quasar Champion, "The Russian Bear" Nikita Morosov!!!
[Curmina Burona plays as Nikita Morosov steps out into the entranceway. He is wearing his traditional orange and red gear and has his chain wrapped around the shoulders. He indicates the belt around his waist and makes his way to the ring. He stands in the ring, unstraps the Quasar belt, and holds it up with one hand to a mixed reaction from the crowd.]
Charlie Watkins – Morosov cost Not Applicable a clean victory for the Spotlight Title last week.
Terry Hogan – No good deed goes unpunished, Charlie. Not Applicable gets a shot at Morosov’s belt tonight.
[The bell rings and the two tie up. Morosov goes behind N/A with a waist lock. N/A gets free and arm drags Morosov. N/A comes after Morosov and Morosov hip tosses him. Morosov holds N/A down and drives a knee into his back.]
Charlie Watkins – It’s not unusual to see Morosov go after a body part.
Terry Hogan – And he’s usually successful when he does.
[Morosov goes for a double arm suplex, but N/A counters with a double leg takedown. N/A catapults Morosov and Morosov’s head hits the turnbuckle. N/A delivers a back suplex to Morosov. He drops an elbow and goes for a pin. Morosov kicks out at one.]
Charlie Watkins – The momentum has shifted in favor of Not Applicable.
[N/A shoots a half nelson, but Morosov breaks free and applies an abdominal stretch. He grabs the ropes for extra leverage, but the referee sees it and breaks the hold. Morosov bodyslams N/A and steps to the second rope, but takes his time taunting the crowd. N/A springs up and forearms Morosov in the midsection. N/A hooks him around the waist and delivers an overhead belly-to-belly suplex that sends Morosov crashing to the mat. N/A clutches his back, but keeps going.]
Terry Hogan – You can see the effects of The Russian Bear’s offense on Not Applicable’s back.
[Both men get up slowly. N/A goes for a clothesline, but Morosov ducks and hits a kidney punch. N/A goes down and doesn’t get up. Morosov looks at the prone N/A.]
Terry Hogan – What’s this all about? Morosov didn’t hit him that hard.
[Morosov picks up N/A and prepares for the Russian Hammer. N/A out of nowhere hits a low blow that the referee doesn’t see. N/A delivers the Application and goes down.]
Charlie Watkins – Not Applicable was playing possum!
Terry Hogan – All he has to do is cover him, but his back is inhibiting his movement.
[N/A crawls over slowly and makes the pin…1…2…Morosov gets a foot on the ropes. N/A looks stunned. He picks up Morosov and goes for a vertical suplex. His back gives out on him and he can’t lift Morosov. Morosov counters and hits the jackhammer slam.]
Charlie Watkins – Russian Hammer!
[Morosov makes the pin…1…2…3!]
Anna Dea – The winner of this match and still SWL Quasar Champion, "The Russian Bear" Nikita Morosov!
Charlie Watkins – And the Bear picks up a hard-fought win.
Terry Hogan – Give N/A all the credit in the world, but in the end, it’s was Morosov’s concentration on his back that prevailed.
Charlie Watkins – Well, up next, it’s the big one. The Heavyweight Title. Johnny Spades takes on "Luscious" Lawrence Rhodes.
Johnny Spades vs. "Luscious" Lawrence Rhodes
SWL Heavyweight Championship Match
Anna Dea – The following contest, scheduled for one fall, is for the SWL Heavyweight Championship!
[POP]
Anna Dea – Introducing first, the challenger, accompanied by Ebony, from London, England, weighing in at 293 pounds, "Luscious" Lawrence Rhodes!
[The prodigy mix of Methodmans 'Release Yo'delf echoes around the arena. A yellowish hue lights the entrance as some smoke willows from the back. Both 'Luscious' Lawrence Rhodes and Ebony emerge from the back. Ebony stands just in front of Rhodes …a smile of her face. Rhodes is wearing the leopard skin tabard, leopard skin jodhpurs and boots and the message 'Cool Britannia' on the reverse. Ebony is wearing a plain tight white tee-shirt, a pair of well worn Levi 501 Jeans and grey snakeskin boots. The pair stand looking out into the crowd ... then Ebony indicates a belt around her waist and turns to look at Lawrence Rhodes. She begins to jaw at Rhodes who just stares out paying no attention. As the music reaches a crescendo they begin the walk down to the ring. Rhodes looks purposeful as he reaches ringside and then begins to climb the steel steps. He sits down on the ropes and holds them open for Ebony to enter. She ducks underneath, but Rhodes rolls back out to the floor. He moves towards the announcers table and snatches up a wireless mic. Rhodes then rolls into the ring under the bottom rope. He passes the mic to Ebony as they await Spades.]
Anna Dea – His opponent, accompanied to the ring by Steph, from Las Vegas, Nevada, weighing in at 285 pounds, he is the SWL Heavyweight Champion of the World, Johnny Spades!
["Take a Look" by Limp Bizkit plays as the lights dim. Purple lights flash and Johnny Spades walks out, with Steph by his side. Spades looks around at the booing crowd, then unstraps the belt from his waist and puts his muscular arms in the air mocking the crowd. Spades stands on the turnbuckle bugging the fans.]
Charlie Watkins – Lawrence Rhodes finally gets his shot at the belt here in Charlotte.
Terry Hogan – I have a funny feeling about this match, Charlie. I’m not sure everything’s on the up and up.
[Ebony grabs a microphone and leans on the ropes looking out at Johnny Spades. She smiles for the camera as Rhodes looks on at her side.]
Ebony: Well Johnny boy, I did say that we all know how you got to be in the position you are, but hey... it’s every man for himself. But I also said that Lawrence wanted to know one thing ... so here we go...
[Ebony steps back ... she looks at Rhodes who continues to stare out at Spades. She passes the mic to Rhodes, who just shakes his shoulders and neck before raising the mic to his mouth.]
Rhodes: Johnny ... [Rhodes puts his hand under his chin .. as if in thought.] Do you spit or swallow?????]
[Spades fires a right hand into Rhodes’ face and the bell rings.]
Charlie Watkins – Here we go!
[Rhodes and Spades trade shots until Spades gets the upper hand. Spades applies an arm wrench and begins to pound on Rhodes’ shoulder. He wrings the arm again and Rhodes quickly delivers a fireman’s carry and rolls Spades into a pin. Spades kicks out at one.]
Terry Hogan – Spades has dominated Rhodes in the past by going after his joints. Rhodes looks like he isn’t going to fall for it tonight.
[Spades gets up and is met with forearm shots from Rhodes. Rhodes whips Spades into the ropes and hits him with a reverse elbow. Rhodes drops an elbow on Spades and goes for a pin. Spades again kicks out at one.]
Charlie Watkins – Rhodes is starting out aggressive.
Terry Hogan – This is the opportunity he’s been waiting for.
[Rhodes picks Spades up and delivers a back suplex. Spades gets up and Rhodes goes for a belly-to-belly suplex. Spades blocks it and sweeps Rhodes off his feet. Spades puts Rhodes in a sitting armbar. Rhodes fights to his feet and elbows Spades in the midsection. Rhodes goes for a gut-wrench suplex. Spades blocks it and flapjacks Rhodes.]
Charlie Watkins – A lot of power moves beginning to come out now.
Terry Hogan – These are two giants that could tear the ring apart by the end of the night.
[Spades whips Rhodes into the ropes and delivers a BIG tilt-o-whirl slam. Rhodes gets up and Spades goes to superkick him. Rhodes ducks and fires back with a couple of forearms and backs Spades into the corner. He whips Spades hard sternum-fist into the opposite corner and catches him with a reverse DDT on the bounce.]
Charlie Watkins – These two huge men are just beating the hell out of each other.
[Rhodes gets up and delivers two snap suplexes, holding on to the facelock after the first. Rhodes hooks Spades into a fisherman’s suplex. Spades kicks out at two. Rhodes dumps Spades out of the ring.]
Terry Hogan – I don’t like it when they come out here.
Charlie Watkins – I have to question Rhodes’ strategy here. You don’t win the belt outside the ring.
[Spades tries to get away from Rhodes. Rhodes catches him and slams his face into the ring apron. Spades reverses an Irish whip from Rhodes and Rhodes flies into the timekeeper’s table taking out a couple of crew members.]
Terry Hogan – Well, I guess now we don’t have to worry about a time limit draw like last week.
[Spades rolls Rhodes into the ring and makes a cutthroat motion with his hand.]
Charlie Watkins – Royal Flush?
[Spades waist locks Rhodes and goes to lift him into the Royal Flush. Rhodes flails his legs and Spades can’t get him up. Rhodes heart punches Spades and stands up, draping him over his shoulder.]
Terry Hogan – No way!
[The crowd comes alive as Rhodes delivers the running powerslam.]
Charlie Watkins – One For the Ladies!
Terry Hogan – He nailed it!
[Rhodes makes the cover…1…2…3!!!]
Charlie Watkins – We’ve got a new champion!
Anna Dea – The winner of this bout…and NEW SWL Heavyweight Champion… "Luscious" Lawrence Rhodes!!!
Terry Hogan – I can’t believe it, Charlie! Where did that move come from?
Charlie Watkins – Rhodes blocked the Royal Flush and countered with the heart punch and running powerslam.
[Johnny Spades sits on his knees with his head down as Rhodes and Ebony parade around behind him with Rhodes holding the Heavyweight title high. Rhodes taunts Spades a little who doesn't seem to notice as he motions for a mic. Ebony and Rhodes look in confusion as the music stops and Spades brings the mic to his lips...........]
Spades: Lawrence Rhodes (pauses) I can't say i like you as an athlete. But as a person your not to bad of a guy. (Rhodes can be seen mouthing "What the hell you talking about") The truth is Rhodes i never thought I would see the day when that SWL Heavyweight championship would be around your waist..(pauses) especially at my expense. But it happened. There is no doubt Rhodes that you have improved leaps and bounds and there is no doubt that after everything i said leading up to this match (smiles) That i'm eating the biggest piece of humble pie on this Planet.
[The crowd cheers a little. Rhodes still holds the title up and points at himself. Spades continues.]
Spades: Rhodes i'm not trying to steal your spotlight cause hell you deserve it. Right now your holding the most important title in this federation and let me tell you something that every past champion already knows. It's alot harder to keep it, then to get it. But to get this finished. I've seen the SWL grow. I have seen the old, superstars like Bret Real, Grinnin and Billy Rock. But i've also seen the new as well. Guys like Jett Jones, Justin Arcola, Morozov and countless others....including you make this federation what it is. I've seen you guys come out here, spill blood, work your asses for all these people and i can even include myself in there cause if one thing is certain. I always came out here and gave it my all, and you Rhodes would even have to admit that.
Spades: So i have sat back for the past couple of weeks and have thought long and hard. I have thought about where this company was when i first came in and where it has gone since i've been here and i have to say, it's been doing nothing but getting better. I sat back and i finally came to this conclusion. That even if i weren't here the SWL would still pack the arenas, put on super shows, and kick ass ppv's. So with that being said. I gave Brian Williams my notice a week ago. This was my final match here in SWL.
[The crowd boos as even Rhodes and Ebony looked shocked. Spades looks around at the crowd then continues.]
Spades: It wasn't easy. I've been here for almost a damn year working my tail off to get where I am today. But i know it is the right thing to do. There are athletes in the back who have more then enough skill to fill in the void, if you want to call it that and i know that the SWL won't miss a step just because i'm gone. So Rhodes i wish you good luck on your title reign. I was hoping to walk out World champion but tonight you were the better man. I held nothing back. I gave it my all but you still beat me.
Spades: To the guys in the back, both friend and foe. I wish you good luck on your careers here in SWL and who knows maybe we will meet again. Will I be back? As of right now, no. Could i be back in the future? Possibly. But for now it is time for the NEW SWL to shine. So hit Lawrence Rhodes’ music and let him have the spotlight that he truly deserves.
[Spades drops the mic and rolls out of the ring as Rhodes music blares through the complex. As Rhodes poses and such Spades gives a few claps then continues to walk to the back, slapping a few fans hands.]
Terry Hogan – How about that?
Charlie Watkins – After a year in the SWL, Johnny Spades is leaving. And he’s leaving like a man. Good luck, Johnny. We hope to see you again sometime. Ladies and gentlemen, we’ll see you in the New Year, when we begin the road to 2001. Until then, Keep Reaching for those Stars!
