FROM THE BEGINNING... Born in Hong
Kong in the 70's, my family decided to immigrate to US when I was
beginning grade school. During that time, I struggled to learn a new language and as a result have pretty much lost all knowledge of my
Chinese writing abilities. |
WHAT HAPPENED NEXT? When
it came time for college, I chose to stay right here in beautiful
San Francisco. This not only helps reduce the college cost by living
at home, I was also able to stay close to friends. After graduating
with a bachelor's degree in business administration (majored in
finance & Banking), I decided that this really isn't the route I
want to go into. |
Career Path Don't misunderstand, I
did work for a bank for 6 years and then decided that wasn't for me.
During the dot com boom in the late 90s, I joined a large ISP
(Internet Service Provider) and worked there for about a year. Later
I took time off and traveled to Seoul and Hong Kong; before
returning to dot com job #2, at a small ASP (Application Service
Provider). It was a wonderful experience as I learned more about
HTML than ever before. But please excuse any loading error to my site due to HTML error...didn't have time to figure out the problem yet. |
Now After the dot com boom, the
company that I worked for finally closed down and I decided that I
will need to get any shop to pay the bills. I was able to find a
government job, working 8-5pm and not worry about any stress of
layoffs. After doing that for about one year, I decided I need a job
a bit more motivating. I was always interested in Japanese anime and
thought wouldn't it be nice to understand the Japanese instead of
reading the English subtitles? I asked around and was able to find
different programs/organizations that can send Americans to Japan to
teach English. I applied and got in and is on my way to Fukushima,
Japan.
After that, who knows, but if you have any ideas, please let me
know. |
