The Shady Tree
Beneath the shady spreading tree
With scented flowers all around
There was a time you were in love with me
But ow it seems I've been let down
Introversion spills like water all around
My love for you still lives on
My happiness leeches into the ground
Good times as I know them have come and gone
I see the couples walking hand in hand
My mind wanders back to times gone by
The memories ripple like the sea on sand
I think of you as a tear buids in my eye
Its hard to think that now you're gone
I recall the rain that stained your grave
If I could be with you in the great beyond
I could recapture what life you gave
