One fine afternoon, I was sitting in my chair taking care of Ralph, my sisters virtual pet. It was a puppy. It needed me to take care of it. I needed to feed it food and water, play with it when it was lonely, give it medicine when it was sick, and I had to take it to the toilet when it needed to go. I admit it. I was attached to these little dots moving around on a small screen. It gave me a purpose. To care for it and to keep it alive. I was it's carer and it was my responsibility. I only realised later what trouble I was getting myself into. I used to play with it all the time. It always had my full attention. I used to take it everywhere. Of course, I had to. There was always something it needed me to do for it. I then thought about the name... Virtual Pet. After that I thought about what it meant. I figured it meant a simulation of a pet. I thought to myself... "But I already have real pets, 2 cats and a dog." I thought about how stupid I was. Taking care of something fake when I had real ones to take care of aswell. While I was doing all this thinking, my dog came up to me and tried to get my attention. He was hungry. He hadn't eaten for a while, because I was too busy for him taking care of the tamagotchi. It was then that realised how stupid and dumb virtual pets are. All they do is try and kill our pets by making us think of other things. Maybe it sounds weird, but I think it's true. After I was thinking how evil they are, I thought about why people like them so much. I thought some more and I thought of some reasons for this weird behaviour. They don't bark at night and wake you up. They don't cost a lot, and the cost of keeping them alive is next to nothing. They don't drool on the lounge. They don't reproduce. They don't argue with you. You can kill it and not feel guilty. They don't chew your belongings. They are portable. Your next door neighbour can't sue you on the terms of your tamagotchi killing their pet bird (unless you throw it at the bird). I think that is all. Even though there are some good things about them, I still think they are evil. Keep your wits about you, and don't fall into the trap of the evil tamagotchi!!!
