before we get started.. the screen shots here.. may not reflect exactly what you will see on yoru computer.

I suggest installing yapops first, it's the more simple of the 2.

1. Download Incredimail & YaPops (aka Ypops) You can get Incredimail(about 7.56 MB) here Yapops(about 1.23 MB) here

2. Download the YaPops help file for the program of your choice (in this case, Incredimail) For your conveince I display the contents here for you, but you may wish to download it for later use. (put all downloads in one location)

This is setup for those using with Yahoo Webmail only. Install Incredimail When this window appears, click NEXT When this window appears, click I AGREE When this window appears, select where you want Incredimail to instal, then click NEXT When this window appears, you can : 1. Check the box to have incredimail start now 2. Not check the box, and incredimail will not start atumaticly right now When this box appears, you have option to make incredimail your default mail program. I suggest doing so. Now, you should allow your system to reboot (restart)

When you start Incredimail for the first time you will see this window. Click NEW When this window appears, Enter the identity name. let us keep it simple for now, pick which of your family to setup first, & enter that persons name. (I suggest whom ever is most patient) The Password option here is for situations where you do not wish other people to get into your Incredimail (such as in case of small children, or nosy visitors), this is NOT you email password. Here click YES When this window appears, click I ACCEPT. OK, now enter information for the person that we are setting the identity up for first. you must do this, or we can not continue.... I suggest not having the box near the bottom of this window checked, or Incredimail will send you alot of useless email But, the choice is yours...When done, click NEXT. When this window appears, click NEXT. In this window 1. Enter the name you want people to see when they get email from you 2. Enter your email address...USERNAME@yahoo.com Then click NEXT Here, you can wait, or skip...which ever you preferr. Then click NEXT In the outgoing & incoming enter 127.0.0.1 In this window enter your Yahoo username and password. Then click FINISH Here, you just wait... a few seconds, to a couple minutes.

This is what will appear now that you are set up for sending/recieving email

Now, let's "tweak" it a bit, so it suits our needs better... Click TOOLS, then go to and click OPTIONS This is what comes up when you click OPTIONS. Uncheck the "launch Incredimail on startup", or everytime you restart windows, Incredimail will run. now, click on VISUAL SETTINGS.... Check/uncheck options you want/don't want.... Now click on DATA FOLDER SETTINGS.... Here you can change the location of Incredimail files...Such as Letters, attachments, etc... You do not have to change locations, unless you want to... Now click SOUND SETTINGS... Here, you can select what sound syou do and not not want..... Now click on the COMPOSE tab..below is what you will see.... defaut letter style settings... is hwere you pick how you want letters to disply. The SIGNATURE is well, you signature... lol. In Incredimail you canmake a text sugnature, image, or more. We will get to that later... ATUO COMPLETE...liek when you start typing an address, and tiny window will open showwing all addresses that match what you have typed so far... Click on RECEIPTS...i DO NOT SUGGEST checking teh options to do this for all messegs. Receipt is a small email that is delivered to you, once the messege you send has been opened. Doing this for all emails gets VERY annoying for the people you contact. it will tell you the date & time the email you sent was opened. It is VERY usefull for very important emails. (like when I write to teh Embassy lol) A returning receipt is well, when someone uses the opetion when the email you, it is the small email atuomaticly sent back to the sender that you read/opened the email. Now, click the SECURITY tab.... I suggest checking both the OUTGOING MESSEGE & BOUNCE SETTINGS boxes... Ok, now click on the JUNK FILTER SETTINGS Below is what you will then see... Click the TURN JUNK FILTER ON OK, now click on MORE SETTINGS... This is what you see when you click on MORE SETTINGS. Click NEXT I suggest you click VIEW JUNKFILTER TUTORIAL and watch IT... Click on the LANGUAGE tab...then select what is best for you In the USER INFO tab.. you can change/update person info you entered when installing ADVANCED tab.. woohoo... this is important. will help operation/use rn smoothly... In the GENERAL section... these are my suggestions.... check EMPTY MESSAGES FROM 'DELETED ITEMS' FOLDER ON EXIT. Check the ASSOCIATE '.EML' FILES WITH INCREDIMAILXE do not check the GENERATE LOG FILE (unless you want/need to keep track of things...) In the MESSAGE section... Check ENABLE 'PLAIN TEXT' IN STYLE BOX Check INCLUDE MESSAGE SOURCE ON REPLY As far as the Preview options.. that is up to you.

ok, Let's set up another IDENTITY for your spouce/child Click TOOLS, IDENTITIES, then MANAGE IDENTITIES.... (here you can go ahead and REMOVE the 'default' identity..NOT the one you already set up.) Do this by clicking the DEFAULT, then REMOVE. Now, click NEW... is good idea to have the CHOOSE IDENTITY ON STARTUP checked... makes it easier. Type in the name of the other person we are setting the new identity up for.. The Password option here is for situations where you do not wish other people to get into your Incredimail (such as in case of small children, or nosy visitors), this is NOT you email password. yes, you want to swith to the new identity now.. so we can get it set up as well... Click I ACCEPT.... OK, now enter information for the person that we are setting the identity up for now. you must do this, or we can not continue.... I suggest not having the box near the bottom of this window checked, or Incredimail will send you alot of useless email But, the choice is yours...When done, click NEXT. When this window appears, click NEXT. In this window 1. Enter the name you want people to see when they get email from you 2. Enter your email address...USERNAME@yahoo.com Then click NEXT Here, you can wait, or skip...which ever you preferr. This is what will appear now that you are set up for sending/recieving email Now, just repeat steps from earlier...

Install Yapops... When this winodw appears, click NEXT. When this window appears, click I ACCEPT THE AGGREMENT, & then click NEXT. When this window appears, chose where you want Yapops to be installed. In this window, you choose wether you want a stat menu shortcut or not. (The Start menu is here....) Here, you can choose wether or not to create a desktop shortcut. Personaly, I just use the Quicklaunch. (You can see a sample of my Quicklaunch on the right of this image..) Blah Blah Blah.. just click INSTALL Ok, say YES if you want Yapops to start up every time you start or restart you computer, & no, if you do not, but would rather turn it on manualy when needed. this must be running for Incredimail to send/recieve yahoo web mail. Here, I suggest letting Yapops start now (check the RUN YPOPS.EXE) Now, click I AGREE

Once Yapops starts, you will see the icon in the lower right of your screen. Looking something like this.... Right click on it to bring up the little program menu...Below is how it will look. Click on CONFIGURE This window will then appear.... Click the small "+" sign next to EMAIL PREFERENCES. That will open up more optons in the left hand side of the Yapops window. Then,click on RECEIVING EMAILS, and that will display some options to the right. Under the FOLDERS HEADING...you have 2 options: 1. Download emails form the Inbox Folder (yes you want this.. DUH) 2. Downloademaisl from the Bulk Mail Folder (this is up to you) Now you see 3 more options under all that : Emptay trass on exit, empty bulk on exit & leave messages on Yahoo unread I suggest you empty the trash on exit, as well as the bulk. (Unless you tend to accidently get good email in your bulk from time to time) if you leave the messages in yahoo as unread.. well.. then when you go to mail.yahoo.com and log in, all the email you have read with your Incredimail, will be in your yahoo.. as unread. this may be good for those wishing to use their yahoomail to also keep emails withotu eating up you disk space. Talk to your local Guru for more advice on this. And last in that area, youes, you want to downlaod all emails. Now click on the "+" next to SENDING EMAIL on the colum to the left, it will open more options below it. If you want your emails that you send to have a copy saved in your online yahoo sent fold, then eave this checked. Okie dokie, now let'sclick the ADVANCED PREFERENCES in the left comlum, and look at the options to the right. Now, ask yourself...Do I want a log file of the Yapops activity? This fiel will tell when it was started, when mail checked, etc.. I think it usless, and just a waste of space, but you may wish to use it. Ask your guru.

Here is what the "help file" aka Module says. I have tried making more screen shots to help you. 1. Select Tools -> Accounts

2. Select Add

3. Select the Radio Button by the line that says "Let me configure settings myself. Click on the "Next" button

4. Enter your name in the top window and your Yahoo email address in the bottom window. Click on the "Next" button

5. Enter "127.0.0.1" in the window for the "Incoming Mail Server" and "Outgoing Mail Server" window. Click o­n the "Next" button

6. Enter your Yahoo user name and password in the appropriate windows and click on the "Finish" button, then the "OK" button

7. Highlight the account that you just created in the accounts window and click the "Properties" button. Rename the Account to "Yahoo Mail" or whatever you like.

. Select the "Servers" tab at the top of the window and check the box by the line that says "My Server Requires Authentication"

9. Click o­n the "Advanced" tab and under "Delivery" uncheck the box that says "Leave a copy of messages o­n server", then click o­n the "OK" button. and close the window Click the More settings and make sure the "use same settings as my incoming server" is checked.

open the Incredimail directory Place file into the bin folder, & run. When you run.. here is what you see...Click on PATCH. When it asks if you want to "Disable new version update message in Incredimail", say yes. other wise, when a new version comes out, Incredmail will FORCE you to update, and you will then have to rerun the patch. (Eventualy with newer versions comming out, one will not allow this patch to work) Now you are set as having "Premium" Incredimail, wich allows you to use skins, & a few other worth-wile things.
