| Angled Sparkly Shirt |
| This is the first shirt I designed, and it turned out differently from how I wanted it to in the beginning, but it still looks great! Some mistakes are actually blessings in disguise. |
| Materials: 1 sleeveless shirt (I got this one at New York & Company aka Lerner New York) 1 small bag of white rhinestones (bigger if you want more rhinestones) fabric glue (the ones for gluing gemstones and rhinestones and such) white sparkly thread (I think they call it metallic thread) needle pins Procedure: 1) Fold the bottom of the shirt at an angle (notice how the rhinestones go from broad to narrow) so that one side is higher than the other. Make sure the front and back are even (I was bad with that one, so it's uneven, but you can't tell). Make sure that you fold the shirt in, so that the part of the shirt under the fold is inside the shirt and hidden. Pin the two sides together to hold the fold. |
| 2) Sew the actual bottom of the shirt (which is now on the inside of the shirt) to the outside of the shirt while removing any pins that are in the way. When you are done, you can now hold the shirt up and the fold won't fall. Sew the new bottom of the shirt (the angled one) to the part of the shirt in the back (inside the shirt) so that fold is sharper. If you have a white shirt, you will be able to see the white of the shirt on the inside through the shirt. If you look at the picture, you can see it. 3) On that part that you can see through (the part between to two lines of thread you have just sewed), put rhinestones on it wherever you want it in random patterns. To do that, put a drop of glue (enough to hold the rhinestone in place but not too much so that it will ooze out when you place the rhinestone on top of it) on the shirt and place the rhinestone on top of it. Repeat this process for the front and back. 4) Allow to dry. |
