Variable Face Mask
Here's a face mask recipe that by changing one ingredient, changes the type of skin it's used for.
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon whiskey
1 whole egg for normal skin, egg yolk for dry skin, or egg white for oily skin
1/4 cup nonfat dry milk powder
Juice of one lemon
1) Mix all of the ingredients.
2) Spread the mixture over the entire face, avoiding the eye area.
3) Allow it to dry on the face.
4) Remove it with a wet, warm washcloth.
5) Keep the mixture in the refrigerator and use it once a week.
Pimple Fighter
This is a quick and easy pimple fighter for those times when one pops up and out of nowhere.
Ingredient:
Skin of one egg
1) Carefully remove the skin from the shell.
2) Place this membrane over a cleansed face where the pimple is.
3) Leave it on for over an hour, or, for best results, leave it on overnight.
4) Rinse with cool water. Do this once a day whenever you have a zit.
Oatmeal Scrub
This is for oily or irritated skin, or skin that has broken out with a few pimples.
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons regular oatmeal (instant is fine)
4 tablespoons plain yogurt
1 tablespoon lemon juice (Fresh or bottled)
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon chopped parsley
1) In a bowl, mix all the ingredients until a paste is formed.
2) Massage it onto cleansed skin and leave on 5-10 minutes.
3) Rinse with warm water.
Anti-aging and Anti-wrinkle Mask
Ingredients:
1 egg yolk
2 tablespoons milk
1) Beat ingredients.
2) Apply to skin that has just been washed and leave it on for 5 minutes.
3) Rinse with warm water and apply a moisturizer.
Fruity Mask
The mask itself is for deep cleansing and unclogging the pores. The carrots are a natural anti-inflammatory which is good if you have breakouts. Carrots have a soothing property in them. The cucumbers are a softening agent for skin. It refreshes and moisturizes the skin. The peaches have emollient properties, and also soothe inflamed (or not) skin.
Ingredients:
6 or 8 ounces of plain yogurt
1 carrot
1/2 peach (fresh, not canned)
1/2 cucumber, peeled
1) Chop the carrot, peach, and cucumber into small pieces.
2) Put it in a food processor (or your handy little chopper).
3) Mix it until it becomes a paste. If it turns runny, don't sweat it, it's still fine.
4) Apply the mask to your face and forehead and leave it on for 10-15 minutes.
5) Rinse.
Firming Face Mask
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon honey
1 egg white
1 tablespoon glycerin (available in drug stores)
enough flour to form a paste (approximately 1/4 cup)
1) Whisk together ingredients.
2) Smooth over face and throat.
3) Leave on 10 minutes.
4) Rinse off with warm water.
Moisture Mask
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons honey
2 teaspoons milk
1) Mix ingredients.
2) Smooth over face and throat.
3) Leave on 10 minutes.
4) Rinse off with warm water.
Intense Moisturizing Mask
Ingredients:
1 avocado
1 teaspoon apricot or avocado oil
3 drops lavender oil
1) Mash avocado.
2) Mash all ingredients and mix well.
3) Smear over face and leave for 15 minutes.
4) Wash face, rinse well. Store in fridge.
Face Food Mask
Ingredients:
1 banana
1 tablespoon honey
1 tablespoon yogurt
1 tablespoon oatmeal
1) Mash banana.
2) Blend ingredients together (you may need to add a bit more oatmeal to get the mixture into a nice paste).
3) Smear over face. Leave for 15 minutes.
4) Wash face and rinse well. Store in fridge.
Healthy Glow Mask
Ingredients:
1 tablespoon white clay
1 tablespoon apricot oil
1 tablespoon mashed paw paw
1) Mix everything together very well.
2) Spread evenly over face. Leave for 20 minutes.
3) Rinse well and moisturize.
Apricot Rose Face Mask & Scrub
Apricots are a rich source of vitamin A, and moisturizing for dry skin. Not to mention those fruit acids that are so good for sloughing off dead skin cells to reveal the glowing new skin underneath.
Ingredients:
1 apricot - organic is best
2 tablespoons ground oatmeal
1 drop rose essential oil
1) Pit the apricot and mash it up in a bowl.
2) Add the oatmeal and blend well, then add the rose essential oil.
3) Spread this paste all over your face, scrubbing gently around the nose and chin. If there's any leftover in the bowl, treat your hands to a hand mask!
4) Leave on for 10 minutes, then rinse well with warm water.
5) Gently pat skin dry with a towel.
Re-hydrating Avocado Mask
Re-hydrate and nourish your dry skin.
Ingredients:
2 teaspoons mashed avocado
1 teaspoon plain live yogurt
1 teaspoon honey (liquid)
1) Blend ingredients.
2) Spread mask over your face, avoiding the eye area.
3) Leave on for 15 minutes.
4) Rinse off with warm water and follow with moisturizer.
Carrot Healer
This is for oily or pimply skin.
1 medium carrot
1 medium lemon
1) Grate carrot and mix with 1 teaspoon of lemon juice.
2) Gently apply to face and relax for 5 minutes. Do not keep mixture on longer than 5 minutes, because the carrot may stain the skin.
3) Rinse off with warm water and moisturize.
Banana Mask
This is for dry skin.
Ingredients:
1 banana
1 teaspoon honey
1) Mash enough banana to make 1 tablespoon.
2) Blend with honey.
3) Smooth over a clean face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
4) Relax for 20 minutes, then rinse with warm water and pat dry.
Ginger Face Mask for Oily Skin
Ingredients:
Buckwheat is an astringent cleanser and purifier. Ginger warms the skin, leaving it feeling tingly and stimulated (try this formula without ginger if skin is extrasensitive).
1 1/2 tablespoons buckwheat (soba) flour
1 1/2 tablespoons spring water
1 drop ginger essential oil
3 drops sandalwood essential oil
1) Mix ingredients thoroughly.
2) Massage gently onto the face.
3) After a few minutes, rinse and pat dry.
4) Apply a light moisturizer. (Do not apply a facial mask immediately after a waxing or plucking since those areas will be extra sensitive.)
Cucumber Avocado Facial Mask
Ingredients:
1/2 cup chopped cucumber
1/2 cup chopped avocado
1 egg white
2 teaspoons powdered milk
1) In a blender combine all of the ingredients until they form a smooth, paste-like consistency.You can apply the mask immediately or refrigerate it for 30 minutes.
2) Apply 2 tablespoons of the cucumber avocado mask to your face and neck in circular upward motions.3) Leave the mask on for 30 minutes, or until dry.4) To remove the mask simply rinse your face and neck with warm water, followed by a cold water rinse.5) Finally, pat dry your face and neck.
Lemon Egg-White Mask
Ingredients:
Juice from half a lemon, strained
1 egg white
1) Beat together the egg white and lemon juice for three full minutes.
2) Apply directly to your face, avoiding your eyes, and leave on for 30 minutes.
3) After 30 minutes rinse your face with warm water and apply a moisturizer or cream.
