Unite, We Are All the Same
I am part of a club. This club fights against racism, and is what sparked the idea for me to write an article on racism.
Charles Darwin developed the idea of natural selection. He came up with the idea that animals (yes, humans are animals) have developed new traits as the years go on. These evolving animals differ, and those with the traits that allow them to survive live, and those without those traits die. Natural forces have "selected" the stronger ones. This lead to racism, where people with certain skin colors believed that they were superior to those with other skin colors. It led to huge rebellions, and now, it has decreased in some nations.
It seems as if cats, dogs, horses, and other animals have more sense than we do when it comes to discrimination. Do you see a Pomeranian treating a Shih-Tzu differently? I went to a pet store and there were these two cages. One Chihuaha was in each, and a different breed of dog accompanied each Chihuaha. Did it make a difference? No, because the Chihuahas kept humping the other dogs regardless. It shows how ignorant we can be. We let the way others look get in the way of how we treat them. Dogs sniff other dogs butts to know more about them. Now, I'm not saying we should do that, but at least dogs choose how to treat other dogs by getting to know them first instead of "judging a book by its cover"
Everyone is all the same. So what if a bit of our genes caused our skin to be darker, lighter, more yellow, more red, etc.? We are still blood. We are the same race, same species. Just because our skin is not the same color does not mean that we should group others by that and start to despise those groups. You are better than that. We are teenagers, we are the new generation. Let us unite and fight against this racism. You can't teach an old dog new tricks. Therefore, the older generations cannot change their minds. But we know better. We know that racism leads to nothing good. Therefore, treat everyone the same. You will meet great people when you look beyond the superficiality.
