So ya wanna know more about me...
-
-
I
was born on a Friday the 13th (August of 1982) at 2:05am. I grew
up with my three sisters - Michelle, Marcie, and Melanie - and my parents.
My family is quite similar to the typical families in the late 80's, early
90's sit-coms. We eat our meals together, and have the occasional
family movie nights, but other than that we pretty much do our own thing.
There's usually some type of drama, which can be expected in a house of
five girls and only one guy, and there is always lots of noise. Growing
up in this house with this family has been quite an experience. And
I mean that in a good way.

My parents have always supplied us with the essentials
in life such as food, shelter, love, support, and endless lessons of ethics.
My mother is especially gifted at teaching morals (or perhaps pounding
them into our heads). For as long as I can remember, when watching
any television show or movie with her, she makes sure to point out the
moral lesson, no matter how obvious it is. Even though we're all
grown up now (for the most part), she still does this. I used to
find this annoying, but now I think it's kind of cute. It's just
a part of who she is. My dad has a somewhat different perspective
on religion. He sort of makes up his own religion, which is cool
in my book. Both of my parents are great at giving advice. Although
they may not always agree with eachother, they each offer their own opinions
which helps us to get a broader perspective of the situation at hand.
They rarely fight with eachother, and when they do, they joke around with
eachother in the middle of the fights. Fights never last longer than
24 hours, and they rarely last that long. My parents have one of
those special relationships where you can just tell that they'll love eachother
for the rest of their lives. They've been together since they were
freshmen in high school! They really do make an excellent team, and
they're both amazing people, despite what you may have heard. ;-)

Although my sisters and I have all grown up under
the same roof, and even shared a bedroom our entire lives, we're all very
different individuals. I'm proud of all three of my sisters, and
the people they have become. First there's Michelle. We've
been best friends almost our whole lives, and I've always looked up to
her while growing up. Michelle has gotten straight A's her entire
life, and graduated from Edinboro University with a 4.0, double degree
in art education, and psychology. She's currently living at home,
driving my parents crazy, and working as a waitress to earn the money to
get herself out of here and into graduate school. She has tons of
potential and tons of talent. She just doesn't know what to do with
it at this point in her life. But hey, who does?
Marcie graduated high school as the solutatorian,
earned the National Merit Scholarship (among others), got a 1460 on her
SATS, and was offered full rides to several colleges. She's now attending
Wheeling Jesuit University. Marcie has a strong talent in actressing.
We've always known she would because she has always been extremely dramatic,
but it's all good because it keeps life interesting. She wants to
be either an english professor, or a Lawyer. I'm sure she'd be great
at either one of those professions.
Melanie is very well rounded. When I look
at her, I see bits and pieces of all three of her older sisters, myself
included. She's a very strong willed, colorful person, and everyone
who meets her loves her. She's very responsible, mature, and intelligent.
Much like my other two sisters, she basically has made straight A's her
entire life as well. She takes care of my pets for me while I'm away
at school, which means a lot to me. I don't trust just anybody with
my babies. She's currently in high school, but you wouldn't be able
to tell from talking to her. I'm glad she's finally reached the age
where I can think of her as a friend and not just my baby sister.
I guess since this is the "about me" page, I should
tell you a little about me, too. I made straight straight A's once
in my life. It was back in 4th grade. I usually would get all
A's and 1 or 2 B's. I made the deans list once up here at SRU, but
that's about the end of my scholastic accomplishments. I'm sort of
the "oddball" of the family. I'm too much of a day dreamer to be
a good student. I've always been "the quiet one". I've always
liked to draw. I've always loved animals and nature more than anything
else in life. I love music. I love movies. I love making
people happy. What I lack in academics, I make up for in humanity.
walking contradiction
Those that know me, know that a lot of the time,
I don't make sense. It's not that I'm a hypocrit, I'm just fairly
open minded so I have the ability to see different sides to every situation.
A lot of the things I do contradict other things that I do. I also
love to argue, even if it's for something I know makes no sense.
Actually, those are my favorite things to argue about. When it comes
to serious issues that I feel strongly about, I don't even like to tell
people how I feel because I hate defending my beliefs.
I love animals, but I love eating meat.
I love computers, but I hate them. I hate wars and gangs, but I love
violence in movies (the bloodier the better). I hate liars, but I
love making up stories to make people laugh. I hate being around
crowds of people, and I hate phony people, so I became a waitress.
I love people, but I hate big gatherings. I love nature and being
outside, but I spend most of my time in front of my computer. I'm
an optimistic pessimist. I try to act all tough, but really I'm just
a big softy. I love music, but I don't really know too much about
it asside from the fact that I love it. I'm straight edge, but I
get high on sugar and drunk on sleep deprivation.

girly
If there's one thing I can't stand in this world,
it's all of the stereotypes. I hate it when people assume something
about someone just because they feel the need to categorize them with someone
else who seems similar. For example, the assumption that all girls
are the same, or that all guys are the same. Sure, there are some
similarities, but you should never assume you know something about anyone
just because they are a girl or just because they are a guy. I came
up with a bunch of random examples of things people assume about girls
that aren't true for me. So here goes:
-
I don't gossip. I don't read magazines to find
out whats in style (nor do I care what's in style). I hate soap operas.
I don't care about shoes as long as they fit and they protect my feet.
I hate shopping and trying on clothes. I don't like spending other
people's money. It just doesn't feel right. I hate dressing
up. I don't giggle and twirl my hair. I'm not turned on by
flattery. I would never stab a friend in the back to get something
I wanted. I prefer dogs over cats. Of all of my friends, I
think maybe one of them has seen me cry. I don't talk a lot.
Most of the time I just observe and listen to people and just take it all
in. I like to break things. I love action movies.. hate romance.
The only kind of salad I really like is salad with meat in it. I
don't like a lot of jewelery. All I wear usually is a watch and a
cheap peice of crap chain type thing around my neck. Those that know
me probably know what I'm talking about. I actually found it in the
street a long time ago. haha If I had any jewerly that was worth
any amount of money, I would be afraid to wear it for fear of losing/breaking
it. I don't get why people would want to wear a pair of earrings
that costs more than a computer. Sure they're pretty, but they're
useless, and I'd rather spend my money on things a little more worthwhile.
Let's see.... What else? I'm competitive. I'll admit it.
But I don't mind losing... every once in a while. I would never listen
to a band's music because I thought the band members were "hot".
I don't care about fashion or trends. I love being outdoors.
I don't like being the center of attention. In fact, I HATE being
the center of attention. I don't wear fake fingernails. I don't
even paint my nails. I've never had a manicure or even been to a
salon. I even cut my own hair. My mom used to cut it until
7th grade, then I started cutting my own. I love playing in dirt.
I love walking in the rain. Hmm... I guess that's about it.
