Morpheus, Neo, and Trinity

My cousin Bob and I used to rent movies every weekend. We used to always get -B movies (the really stupid pointless horror movies that are more funny than scary) until we brought a pretty bad one home, and it became "the straw that broke the camel's (my mother's) back". She flipped out on us and forbid all R rated movies. A friend of mine referred The Matrix for our weekend movie. He said it was a truly awesome movie (he was right), and that we should check it out. It was, in fact, R rated, however there was barely any fowl language and no nudity. I have no idea why it was rated R. It wasn't even all that graphic. Anyway, it was, by far one of the best movies I've ever seen. It had incredibly awesome special effects, tons of action, and a good plot. Towards the beginning of the movie, there is a question thrown out to Neo. He is asked (by Morpheus) whether he wants to take the red pill or the blue pill. If he takes the red pill, he will "see how deep the rabit hole goes", which means he will find out all about the Matrix and know the complete truth about life. He will be with the rest of the crew in "the real world" and join in the fight to stop the agents. If he takes the blue pill, he will wake up in his bed the next morning, not remember anything that has just happened to him (being chased by agents, kidnapped by the "good guys", bugged, and debugged - literally), and he will be free to believe whatever he wants to believe. He chose the red pill.....

We have only bits and pieces of information but what we know for certain is that at some point in the early twenty-first century all of mankind was united in celebration. Neo:     AI? You mean artificial intelligence?
Morpheus:     A singular consciousness that spawned an entire race of machines. We don't know who struck first, us or them. But we know that it was us that scorched the sky. At the time they were dependent on solar power and it was believed that they would be unable to survive without an energy source as abundant as the sun. Throughout human history, we have been dependent on machines to survive. Fate it seems is not without a sense of irony. The human body generates more bio-electricity than a 120-volt battery and over 25,000 BTU's of body heat. Combined with a form of fusion the machines have found all the energy they would ever need. There are fields, endless fields, where human beings are no longer born, we are grown. For the longest time I wouldn't believe it, and then I saw the fields with my own eyes. Watch them liquefy the dead so they could be fed intravenously to the living. And standing there, facing the pure horrifying precision, I came to realize the obviousness of the truth. Neo: I can't go back, can I?
Morpheus: No. But if you could, would you really want to? I feel I owe you an apology. We have a rule. We never free a mind once it's reached a certain age. It's dangerous, the mind has trouble letting go. I've seen it before and I'm sorry. I did what I did because...I had to. When the Matrix was first built, there was a man born inside who had the ability to change whatever he wanted, to remake the Matrix as he saw fit. It was he who freed the first of us, taught us the truth. As long as the Matrix exists the human race will never be free. After he died the Oracle prophesied his return and that his coming would hail the destruction of the Matrix, end the war, bring freedom to our people. That is why there are those of us who have spent our entire lives searching the Matrix looking for him. I did what I did because I believe that search is over. Get some rest, you're going to need it.

Cypher: You know, I know this steak doesn't exist. I know that when I put it in my mouth, the Matrix is telling my brain that it is juicy and delicious. After nine years, you know what I realize? Ignorance is bliss.

Mouse:     Do you know what it really reminds me of? Tasty Wheat. Did you ever eat Tasty Wheat?
Switch:     No, but technically, neither did you.
Mouse:     That's exactly my point. Exactly. Because you have to wonder now. How did the machines know what Tasty Wheat tasted like. huh?. Maybe they got it wrong. Maybe what I think Tasty Wheat tasted like actually tasted like oatmeal or tuna fish. That makes you wonder about a lot of things. You take chicken for example, maybe they couldn't figure out what to make chicken taste like, which is why chicken tastes like everything. Maybe couldn't figure out...
Apoc:     Shut up, Mouse.

Neo:     Nothing, I just had a little deja vu.
Trinity:     What did you see?
Cypher:     What happened?
Neo:     A black cat went past us, and then another that looked just like it.
Trinity:     How much like it, was it the same cat?
Neo:     Might have been, I'm not sure.
Morpheus:     Switch, Apoc.
Neo:     What is it?
Trinity:     A deja vu is usually a glitch in the Matrix. It happens when they change something.

Cypher: I disagree, Trinity. I think the Matrix can be more real than this world. All I do is pull the plug here. But there, you have to watch Apoc die.

Agent Smith: I'd like to share a revelation during my time here. It came to me when I tried to classify your species. I realized that you're not actually mammals. Every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with the surrounding environment but you humans do not. You move to an area and you multiply and multiply until every natural resource is consumed. And the only way you can survive is to spread to another area.
