The Secret Garden was a favorite movie of mine around the time when it first came out in 1993.  I had forgotten about it until recently, so I watched it again and I still love it.  It's about a girl named Mary who's parents are killed in India so she gets shipped off to England to live in her uncle's mansion, because she has nowhere else to go.  Her uncle is rarely seen around the mansion because he is still grieving the loss of his wife, who died 10 years prior to the time setting of the movie.

Supposedly, his wife fell off a swing in her garden and died shortly after giving birth to their premature son, Colin.  Lord Craven, Mary's uncle, is devestated by the loss of his wife and fears the loss of his new son because of the premature birth.  He doesn't want to get attached to Colin because he's afraid he'll lose him too.  So Colin spends the first ten years of his life in bed, convinced he's dying.  He doesn't even know how to walk!
When Mary moves in, Mrs. Medlock (the lady who takes care of Colin and is supposedly in charge of the house in the absense of Lord Craven) orders her to stay in her own room and forbids her to go exploring.  Mary, of course, ignores the request when she hears the cries of her cousin, whom she did not know even existed.  She finds Colins room and they meet for the first time and learn that they are the same age and that their mothers were not only sisters, but twins.
Anyway, lots of stuff happens and it has a very happy ending.  I don't know what it is about this movie... There's no action, little humor, no blood, not really any suspense... yet I love it.  There's something about it... I guess you'll just have to watch it yourself. :)  Oh and there's also lots of really nice naturey scenes!  Kinda makes me wanna live in England.
