Well, I'm no longer assigned to the truck company, I got assigned to one of the busier engine companies here, Engine 4, Station 4..."THE DOG POUND". It's not what you think, our station is next door to the humane society, so we kinda got tagged with the dog pound name...I suppose it could be worse. Our station has a 1992 Pierce Lance, it's a great truck, and a 1994 Ford ambulance...we work under a "jump truck" concept. if we have a medical call, we all jump on the ambulance and go, fire calls, of course we take the engine...it takes some getting used to, but its not too bad

Here we have me giving a demonstration of the buckets capabilities to a bunch of kids, back whe I was assigned to the truck company.........

This is another function of our truck company. Unlike many larger cities we don't have a Rescue truck (yet) so our truck company handles all the rescue functions...such as extrication, search and rescue, high angle and confined space rescue, water rescue, and just about any other type of rescue you can imagine.

This is one of our 1st out engines...i know it say engine 3 on the side but she's now at station 1, running as engine 1. She is a 1993 Spartan/Darley, and is one of our nicest engines. We run 2 Spartans, 1 Pierce Lance, 2 HME/Darley Quints, a Pierce Aerial, and have a Pierce Lance and an E-1 quint in reserve. We also run 3 first out ALS (advanced life support) ambulances and have 4 BLS (basic life support) "jump" units.

This was a long nite, we had a mulch pile about 60 feet high and the size of a football field burning at the end of the runway at the airport, we spent about 3 days extinguishing it.....

This was taken during an auto extrication class required for Paramedic. The picture is fittingly enough titled "trouble" because it pretty much describes the 3 guys sitting in whats left of the car. We have Robert Holt "driving", Vernon Edenfield navigating, and myself sitting in the back creating as much havoc as possible....stay tuned for more pics from class........
and last but not least here we have myself and Captain Harvey Bethea playing a little golf at the super bowl tounament last year....no we didnt win, but we had a good time anyway.
