It is Portland Brewery's intention to bring into the world a
select family of individually distinctive beers
and ales that as demanding practitioners of
craft brewing, would enjoy drinking themselves.
That is their final yardstick. They ignore costs,
fads, and difficulty in creating these
beverages. And, while they take the art and business of beer making rather serious, they try to avoid taking themselves too seriously. After all they realize brewing a fine beer isn't exactly nuclear
physics. It's something far more important.

Deschutes Brewery's four basic beers and several seasonal brews are all available at the Public House.
Cascade Golden Ale, Deschutes' lightest offering, is the perfect brew for the warmer days of summer or for the real ale beginner. Bachelor Bitter is a coppery colored, British style "Best
Bitter." Black Butte Porter is Deschutes' flagship beer for distribution. Dark, rich and chewy, this is a beer you can sink your teeth into. A beer which truly dispels the myths about
dark beer, this is the largest selling porter in the Northwest. Obsidian Stout is rich, toasted and chewy in character and isn't the bitter, astringent stout many people are familiar with.
Seasonal offerings include the spring time Mirror Pond Pale Ale, a copper colored and full bodied ale with a distinctive lingering hop finish and Jubelale, made for Holiday availability.
This English "Winter Warmer" style ale has very large malt body with a pronounced hop
finish.

M.J. Barleyhopper's, the area's largest microbrewery, produces five year-round hand-crafted ales. HARVEST WEIZEN, their lightest ale, is made with 30% wheat malt, BARLEYHOPPER BROWN offers a mild flavor with a chocolate color, STEAMBOAT STOUT is like a guiness, but lighter, HUCKLE WEIZEN, comes with a Hint of Huckleberry, and my personal favorite, RATTLESNAKE RED, a dark amber colored scottish style ale. Seasonals such as Octoberfest, Snake River Porter and Bock At The Moon are also very popular. M.J. Barleyhopper's Sports Pub Offers 65 brews on tap and bottled including many popular Northwest micros.
