Construction Again, there are few photos of the construction of these furred fellows, but I will provide illustration & description of the method of construction.
Concept Sketch: Here's a concept sketch of what we were aiming for. We didn't create them exactly as we had originally sketched, but fairly close to the same idea.
For the mooses'(and deertanian's) costumes, we modified patterns for two 1600's era french doublets. (Instructions for building a doublet).
The primary modification for these costumes was to enlarge the laced collar to allow for the added circumferance of the moose head. We decided to attach the lace collar directly to the bottom of the "moose neck's" to hide the fact that there was no actual fursuit being used.
(note: at this time, I don't have any information for the collars on this site, but the patterns were purchased through a period pattern company.)
